Why cant we like pics on here

There should be a like button for the profile ( some say a flirt button).. Instead of having to write an email and getting no response. I like that feature on another lifestyle site.

Perhaps liking a picture would be faster, but it also may add to confusion. I may enjoy a pic and like it but am not interested in the couple. If writing a short message for clear communication is too much work, then it would not be a good match for us anyway.

Liking a pic or even a flirt button. It would be sooo much easier and quicker thang writing a message that may go nowhere.

I view liking pics as a stronger flirt. If someone views me it’s one thing, if they view and like pics might give more of a reason to check closer or decide to contact. Just another way to say hi.

"At any rate, I don't see a great need to be able to like individual pictures on this site. "

I don't either. I was just pointing out that photos on FB can be liked as Molly explained.

I do not see any value in liking pictures on this site. This site is designed to connect people in the lifestyle together, not gain a social media following. If I like a picture and feel an attraction with potential we are compatible, I send them a message with our names and open our pics. If I like a picture and do not feel we are compatible (e.g. they are full swap only and looking for under 35 years old), then I appreciate the photo in that moment and move on.

"At any rate, I don't see a great need to be able to like individual pictures on this site. How would that help people meet each other?"

Exactly!

Your pictures on SLS should entice people to contact you - it's not a photo popularity contest!

If you think someone has a great photo you can always send a quick message to proclaim your appreciation.

Wayne, you possibly have a different version of Facebook.

For the rest of us, we can click on a photo and be taken to a unique page - as in it's different than the post on which the photos are posted - where we can react/like a photo and comment ON that photo. This can be done with every photo attached to the post and it's a unique page each time.

I do mean Facebook and you cannot like pictures on Facebook. You can like the comment that the picture is attached to, but you cannot like the picture. Maybe you consider that the same thing? You can view someone's pictures and then click on a picture. That shows you a larger picture and comments (if it has any) over to the right. From there you can 'Like' the comment that the picture is attached to.

Just want to confirm that when you say FB, you mean Facebook?

If so, then yes, you should be able to like photos. Not sure if you have changed settings in past that changed those options or not.

"I checked this before I posted. I don't have any 'Like' option for pictures on FB."

You do if you click the individual photo. That gives you comments, likes, and other options.

"You also cannot like pictures on FB. On FB, you can like a post that a picture is added to, but not the picture itself. "

Yes you can. When you click on any picture there is an option to "like" it.

I think having likes for pictures is too granular. Some profiles have lots of pictures and active members generally add and remove pictures to keep them up to date. If a member deleted a picture, all the likes for that picture would be lost. If anything, it would probably encourge people to leave the same old and outdated picture up because it had a lot of likes. I checked a couple of other sites and they do not have likes for pictures. You can like a profile, but not indivudal pictures. You also cannot like pictures on FB. On FB, you can like a post that a picture is added to, but not the picture itself.

As far as subthreads in the forums, the forums are a public place (to members of the site) to discuss issues. The responses should be to the thread topic as a whole and not to individuals. You can also copy and paste and quote something to specifically address a response.

Some of these pics are nice, man. I want to express my like. Via a like button. Why can't I like??

And also why can't I use appropriate punctuation in the subject line of my complaint??
