I have often wondered if there's going to be a revamping of the lifetime membership forcing us to a new perhaps upgraded 'gold' membership. As this is really the only viable website in my area I will be forced to acquiesce

@constantcravings No, it's not some nefarious plan to level the playing field. As usual, it's just technical incompetence from SLS's web development staff.

They're slowly rewriting the website, once piece at a time, to make it easier to access the same database the website uses via their mobile app. The most recent change with the certifications. Previously, when you clicked the cert tab, the website quickly checked the database and returned with the certifier's name, comment, and the date it was posted. Now when you click the tab, the page first loads and then afterwards the cert list is retrieved. Only this time, it's fetching the certifier's entire profile (ages, locations, preferences, account type, etc). So it's causing a significantly larger load on the database server (and causing way more data to be sent to you web browser, taking longer to download).

If SLS had any experience in modern web design, they would be using what's called a "shallow copy" to pull down just the information that was needed. Of course there is also the possibility that these changes are deliberate attempts to kill the website. Then they could abandon the liability of all the lifetime memberships and force people over to the mobile app.

Certs are an invaluable tool for me. I back check certs several 'layers' back to check if a gentleman is not just getting a 'participation trophy as constantcraving spoke of. Whereas its fun to read of his carnal skills I'm more interested in his lifestyle experience. Showing up? His manners? Lack of certs after a gentleman has been on for years is a red flag or at least a 'yawn '. I can only imagine how difficult it is for couples dealing with four distinct personalities.

The reason for the new cert format is so that everyone appears the same.
A "participation trophy".
This is also for SLS to collect data as to how many folks care about certs. How many folks look to see. Alot of folks say "We don't kiss and tell". Give me a break guys. Your profile is your resume' and the certs are your references. We are all here for sex. While there are "certs collectors" and those certs given and received for attending a function. Useless certs.
Just read and evaluate them. They are a valuable and useful function for the lifestyle. Who wants waste your time if the couple is not as advertised. All the swing sites use them in one form or another.

Now I don’t even get an option to check certs. ??????? It’s not coming up as even an option... Certs. Are often more accurate that people’s profiles as far as a useful tool to help find compatibility.

I realize that y’all have had to make a lot of changes to work with your app. It’s also evident that offering lifetime memberships has probably been a thorn in your side as far as cash flow and keeping your website current. But alienating your base... I’m about done explaining and making excuses for the web interface and service. I have always told people ...if your not on sls in the lifestyle at least on the east coast your not really serious. I have sent numerous people to your site.

As a fm that occasionally plays separate I look at certs for multiple reasons ... safety, dependability and Key information for a match.

I find myself utilizing sls less and less with the changes. I’m also not going to refer new young cpls and singles here ... it’s just embarrassing.

I did a hot date on a recent business trip to Chicago... I couldn’t even get the messages to download 1/4 of the time ... that stupid pink strip always saying it’s updating , it’s soooo slow... why bother.

Same here, we have 66, and it takes forever for it to settle down.

I am the only one. When I select to see certs the screen re-displays over and over. If there is 1 or 2 certs not bad. If they have many certs the screen re-displays over and over again for each cert. It seems that whomever wrote this piece of code was a non-programmer.
