Updating profiles

Westmoreland, NY, Us

The biggest problem is getting the update published without having some issue, so alot of people just don’t bother. We’ve been taken offline and slapped with infractions for some gray area TOS violation, had our profile changed from couple to single, etc. It’s frustrating so I think a lot of people don’t regularly update.

As most of the problems seem to come from people's pictures being old or of their weight and age being in error maybe those are the fields that should count as an update. If somebody changes the what we're looking for I don't see that as being quite as important.

If you're a "legit" member who doesn't update their profile/tag line/stats/pics at least once a year, how legit are you?

<p>I will write up a suggestion. I don't think that the fields on the first update screen should count as an update though (name, password and email address), as those are not part of the profile information that is shown to anyone.</p>

<p> </p>

<p>"<span style="background-color:rgb(230, 230, 249); color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:tahoma,verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:14px">And I can&rsquo;t imagine how it could hurt legit users."</span><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:tahoma,verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:14px"> - If you are a legit member who never updates your profile, it could hurt you.</span></p>

I love the idea! We can already see the last time someone was online, so maybe you could add a “latest update” as well. I think it would be another good tool to help gauge the poster’s overall interest in the lifestyle. It needn’t say what was updated, and if it was just an email or an age change, well…so what? It might help weed out some of the fakes and pic hunters who join with a 2 sentence profile and then never bother with their own profile again. And I can’t imagine how it could hurt legit users.

If it says someone is 56 and the last time they updated was 2009, then I could make a reasonable assumption that they are at least 69 and that their pictures are at least 13 years off.

<p>It is something I can suggest, but I am not really sure that information serves any purpose. It would not tell you what they updated. Maybe some information would still be out of date. And what should trigger as an "update"? If they just change their email address or password? If they change their upper age from 50 to 51? </p>

Wayne,
We just updated. and added the date of update to our tagline. Now We need to wait for approval.

How much trouble would it be to add an updated --/--/---- note automatically from this point forward to all updates either in the tagline or at the beginning of the profile.

If every profile had this added it would at some point be a partial answer to the ever present complaints about out of date profiles
