The wall again

We have a question about wall moderation. Are posts check by LS similar to Hot Dates? They were recently removed but there were a few wall posts in our area by a couple asking folks to cam. Based on the content of their profile (which also should not have been approved) It was an obvious attempt to have someone(s) respond to the request, then they would provide a pay link to cam with them. These wall posts were up for several weeks.

We've seen this as well as wall posts advertising products.

Just curious.

We listened to you and updated the wall. The issue no longer exists. The wall remains in the 2nd position of the tab ribbon at the top of the page now. It will only show in 1st postion if there is a new post. If you are not using that feature, you can simply refresh the page and it will no longer show.

Very strange at the Wall:

There is a button for THUMBS UP but no button for THUMBS DOWN. But there is a comment button. The THUMBS UP button has over 800 likes but the Comment button shows mainly negative comments. Hmmmmm

The wall is a compete waste of space. We have one couple who posted Happy Mother's Day and one single dude looking to give massages.... woo hoo!

SLS_Wayne:

here is no reason to block wall posters.

What other way is there to keep some postings that you may like and not see clutter of others. The "HIDE" command does not work.

What happened between the Beta testing and release of the Wall feature?

When will we be able to post pictures to our wall? We're looking forward to that.

if it is supposed to be local, why am I getting post from people 1200 miles away that I do not know?

Wayne,

As you say, people don't understand the wall, but it's because there is NO explanation anywhere on the site (except for your forum posts) that explain that other local folks' wall posts will come up. If they were labelled or color coded as such, or if they were listed in a separate section as "here's what other local members are up to" that would go a long way towards cutting down on the questions.

We enjoy the wall so far. When will we be able to post pictures to it?

You are not understanding the wall. There is no reason to block anyone. They are not posting on your wall and most likely do not even know you exist. You are seeing public posts in your area. Just like when you come into the forums and you see threads started by all sorts of other members. If you are not blocking every poster that you see in the forums, there is no reason to block wall posters. The public part of the wall is a similar concept to the forums. It is just more local to you (within 50 miles of you).

moekathy: "We should have a running bet on the next useless feature they will introduce. "

"Would you like us to invite your FaceBook friends to join you SLS?"

Does anyone really care for this wall? We don't. Our friends don't. SLS trying to compete with Facebook is like pissing in the wind. We should have a running bet on the next useless feature they will introduce.

Only you can post on your wall. All of the posts that you see are from people within 50 miles of you who are using the app to make these posts publicly from their own wall feeds. No one sees your profile.

In the immortal words of Reagan.....TEAR DOWN THAT WALL!!!

So I understand this dang wall...someone, we don’t know, can put a post on “my wall” and then others can “like it”? Are these people seeing our profile? And how do I get them off “my wall”. Thanks for any advice!
