I agree with Onehorneywife, if you post something you are "back on" LOL
Last online - in what timing is today?
IMO the proper way to do it is to register all times in the DB as GMT and show them to users on their local time zone based on their browser settings. That way everyone sees times relative to them.
<p>I have seen this issue too. It is some glitch in the Who's On. This site is almost 25 years old. This is why we have created swing.com and are focusing on that site and making sure it is the best it can be and works properly. It would be impossible to fix everything and continue to maintain this old site. </p>
<p>When this happens to me, I just logout and log back in. That takes 2 seconds and solves the issue.</p>
We have seen this too
I've noticed that the Who's on logic is weird LOL. I agree that something is going on. Sometimes I see our profile as on and sometimes not. Not sure if it is tied to the last online fuctionality but I do see who's on vary aas to whether it shows us online or not.
Just looked again and not showing as being on again. WTF?????
I just posted on the forum about this issues and poof I am back showing as being on. WTF?
Again this morning. I have been online about 30 mins and now not showing in the main screen or under the Who's on tab
How is someone supposed to reach out and want to chat if they are online and we are not showing as being online? Can't wait to hear the explanation for this!
Well have been online chatting with a friend and low and behold all of a sudden I am no longer showing as being online. This is crap. How can that happen?
So online today is designed to be on in last 24 hrs. Yesterday = on in last 48 hrs, 2 days ago = onin last 72 hrs etc ?
We're pretty careful about logging off of sites and shutting down the computer before going away but I suppose it could have happened.
I'm aware the site logs the profile off after a period of inactivity
<p>Do you use the "Logout" button when you leave the site? If you do not use that button, it is supposed to check and log out the profile after a certain amount of time (I believe either 30 minutes or an hour), but that does not always happen and it could get "stuck" showing as online for days. </p>
That doesn't explain showing up "Today" when the viewed profile hasn't been logged into/online for 3 or 4 days.
FWIW, the last time we were made aware of that happening with our profile was in June or July of 2025.
<p>"Today" means the last 24 hours from the time you are viewing. As I type, it is 8:15 AM. So any profile that was on after 8:15 AM yesterday would show "Today".</p>
Well, many times we have been just the opposite. Currently showing we are online here. 30 mins form now we may not show at all in the Who's On category. I have to log off and then back on again to be shown in Who's On.
We've been told that our profile has shown us being online "today" when we had been out of town and not been to SLS for several days or maybe even a week.
We were told that by people via text, phone call or email. Seems that "today" can be as long as 4 days since we logged off this site.
<p>All the times on the site are in Eastern time.</p>
<p> </p>
While I get SLS is mainly a North America user group, it is used by users in Asia and Europe also. So that has me wondering in what timezone does it use to decide when the last online info shown n a profile changes from today to yesterday. The question is based on they have not been online again. Thanks!
