As I said in a different fora . . . . SLS has had a loyal following. There have been many unpopular changes made in the past year, however none as universally unpopular as ending email. What they do not seem to understand is :
- Anyone joining seeing so many upset long term members will think long and hard about spending money.
- Existing members are now looking, considering, and joining other sites. So, SLS is helping there competition while simultaneously are damaging the reputation of there site.
Yes, many may not care. Yes, more bucks may flow in short term. And, yes, long term other sites will benefit. This reminds me of “new Coke” vs “Coke Classic” a marketing decision that cost CokaCola a fortune. Management really needs to rethink this direction.
