Is Messaging broken for anyone else?

VA I found out from a friend only SMs could view my profile and I had it set the same for everyone "no interest, still able to view" so I had to change them to minimal interest. Go Figure

Doesn't seem to be broken, but the setting of allowing single males to view our profile but not message us is not working. Somehow, single males are able to message us again.

Yep seems to work. I appreciate the effort here on this website but man that website that rhymes with Shmasidie sure has communication figured out!

The IM messaging system is an absolute disaster. I'm hoping that they are working on re-enabling the old e-mail system. ;)

I, as I’m sure y’all do, get on various websites on any given day. Do you run into any other sites that are so often down, slow, non responsive as this site? Nope, me either. Why don’t they figure out wtf the problems are with this site before incorporating more and more wonderful changes. Rhetorical question but wanted to ask anyway lol

You are 100% correct.
The Messaging system has been broken all day.
Although other parts of the site appear to work intermittently, messaging has not worked today.
All one gets is a pop up message that you either you have no messages at all. Gee wonder what happen to them?
Or, the Pop up and never ending ...""Reconnecting"" message.

Same thing happening to me. Just says "Reconnecting" at the bottom. Used multiple browsers. Hmm.

I was aware that they switched over to just using messaging. That was working fine until a few weeks ago. The errors look more like browser security updates not allowing what the messaging system is trying to do. But, like I said: I've tried multiple browsers and even finally tried turning off all the security options available. Nothing is working for me.

I'm willing to bet that if SLS developers don't take this seriously, eventually all browsers will start failing as updates roll out.

I can only guess that you must have taken a break from this website because the “email system” of SLS in which the beloved yellow bird indicated that one had incoming mail is now extinct. SLS pulled the plug and switched to the glorious new messaging system apx a year ago, if not longer.

The messaging system seems to be working here in TN anyway and on my Ipad.

I try to go to "Messages" and the page loads, but instead of seeing my messages, I just get a constant "Reconnecting" box.

I tried asking tech support, but customer service prevented me from actually speaking with a tech, and eventually closed my ticket because I wasn't being helpful and turning off all browser security features.

I have the same problem in all of:

• Windows - Chrome, Firefox, Edge (all up to date and running without ad blockers)
• Andriod - Chrome, DuckDuckGo (all up to date)

One thing to note is that I cannot do email anymore (where the bird shows up when you receive mail). My only option now is instant messaging - which doesn't work.

Given that I have tried so many combinations, I have a hard time believing I am the only one with this issue.
