"I don't have the means to do an "online session"

Zoom is free. And customer service is priceless.

If you're the only one supporting this site then there are bigger problems.

That would be 6:15 Eastern time

Really?

It's totally random for us.

Sometimes messages go through on the first try, other times it can take 5 or 6 tries. Often in the middle of a conversation where the first one or two go through and then the problem starts minutes later.

That would be 6:15 Eastern time. The site has daily routines that run early in the morning, although I think they run earlier than that (around 4am). I could potentially see them causing an issue like this, which is why they are run early in the morning. For the people having this issue, is it early in the morning or at any specific time?

I don't have the means to do an "online session" with someone. I'm already having people send me tickets and privately tell me who they are messaging and also give me the exact text that they are sending. In some cases, it turns out to be one of the valid reasons that the site does not send messages. In other cases, I logged in as them and sent the message to the other person and it worked fine for me and the message sent.

Wayne,

Why not have someone reach out to some of the more vocal folks here and do an online session to see the problem first hand?

Seems that might go a long way to show that you really do take customer experience seriously.

A preponderance of evidence is not proof beyond a reasonable doubt that the message system is flawed.

Trust me Wayne your message system is screwed up I have to send a message 2 or 3 times to actually get it to send

I just sent a message with no issue. Let me make this clear: We are not seeing this happen. We have no Earthly idea why this is happening for some people. We have no idea how to fix it. We have no idea where to even start.

I have never said it isn't happening for some people. We just can't recreate it and if we can't recreate it, we don't have any place to start working on a fix.

All weekend it’s taken at least four tries to get a message to go through here.

When sending a message, it just.. disappeared. I don't think it sent.

I think I heard another user mention this issue once before. It's probably just a 1 in a million software hiccup.
How can this even happen?

For software designed to let people connect with each other, reliable messaging is critical. Maybe the most critical function. IMHO - If there is any place where effort should be applied to the software, it would be in writing a feature-rich, robust and reliable e-mail like message platform.

Took four tries to send a message today... again. How about acknowledging there's a problem with the system?

Westmoreland, NY, Us

RonKathy, let’s not sugar coat it or look for excuses. While there could be a bandwidth issue due to the storms currently, these messaging problems have existed for well over a year now. There’s been no acknowledgment of the problem as SLS management has stated everything is fine and it’s an end user issue. We’re told to submit support tickets, but nothing every really gets fixed with it. We’ve chalked this up to one of those things members here just have to accept and live with.

so last couple days we wrote returned IM to several and they did not show up and had to rewrite them.. today we had to log in several times to get anything working.. who knows.. maybe its the internet in FL that emergency services has upgraded to first responders and taking up more important issues..

Old days, 2004-5 Verizon would bump our agency to next higher band in 800 mghz not sure what they are doing today.

Wayne, System is again not working on messaging. Can you get ahold of your developers to fix or patch this
