I get the feeling many people don't like it.
I add my humble 2 cents to say, IT SUCKS CANAL WATER.
I start my message in a text editor, spell check it (Because a new feature of the improved SLS Message is it can't be spell checked)
Then copy and paste it.

Hate it also. Mine is very tiny at the bottom of the screen. Half the time I respond in the same box as the message came to me in. Shouldn't be able to do that even if you wanted to. Not a good way to make a good impression. The box jerks each letter I type. I understand improvements but the improvements need updated.

We despise the new message system also! We never liked or used IM's, simply because we don't have time. We get on, check mail....respond yes or no, check out who viewed our profile...and then split! We enjoy this site, and have made MANY good contacts and friends here. We haven't had any trouble attaching a pic in a message, so that's not really a problem. We just don't want to feel obligated to sit and IM back and forth when we get forced into it. We don't want to be rude, and just get up and walk away from the conversation....but DAMN! We used to be on one other site as a lifetime member, but it went tits up in the dirt at the same time Ashely Madison got compromised....and Suz says she will never join that one because of the data breach. We will gladly stay here and keep enjoying this site and the friends and F buddies we have made here....but hopefully the Admins here will take notice of threads about the messaging system and fix it.

In addition to the IM problem I can not down load my photos. I have never had a problem before and all of a sudden I can not get them on..what gives???????????????

There are always search engines. One thing that may help this community reform elsewhere is if we use the same screen name across the sites. Our LCMIM is universal.. WE could be contacted on any of those sites that have email.

I hate it, hate it, hate it! And oh, by the way, I hate it. Now that it is the only way to contact people, if it messes up, you are dead in the water. Before you 4could either email or IM and lots of folks did not use the latter. Now it is forced on them. You screwed up. Please go back to the old method.
