OTC - Testing for STD's

Our lady uses her gyno who knows she is in the LS. Tested at least once a year. I use STDcheck and recommend it. Currently $139 for the 10 panel already mentioned below. I like I don't have to go to Dr and ask. Order it, drop by lab, 10 min later you are done

I think I was thinking of the chlamydia test. Just got them mixed up.

Note that women can be tested for HPV by their OB/gyn. There is no pre-test for men. If you get genital warts, consider it as a test result that is positive. Consult a dermatologist.

Been tested for hsv for the last 20 years and only done via blood.

We had HSV tests through a blood test. No mouth or anal swab. Maybe that exists, but it was not suggested to us.

I think the HSV test requires a mouth swab and an anal swab.

What will health departments test for? I know they will test for HIV.

Great advice about the right test and what to test for. Many have no clue that it is not part of the standard panel.....

Make sure the test you use includes HSV (Herpes) testsing. It is not usually included without asking for it.

STDCheck is the best. If you pay out of pocket, it will not go to your health insurance. Less likely to wind up in your permanent record.

Personally I would say that since STDCheck . com provides a 10 panel test done by providing a blood and urine sample at a local lab, of which they have many throughout the US and say it only takes 5 minutes, this may be a better more guaranteed accurate option, rather than using an over the counter at home test, many of those I have seen are about the same price anyway and often only test for 5-7 different STI's unlike the 10 STDCheck tests for.

Amicizia,

Don't forget, it cost nothing to utilize the Aids Foundation for STD testing or the Health Dep. Donating blood or blood plasma is free, only no test results are given from them which means no news is good news. If the donation is (+), you will be contacted by the Health Dep so timely treatment can be offered.

Some Online Self-Serve 3rd party lab sites have reduced their prices since the abundance of COVID-19 testing.
If you do not have insurance, STD testing is normally quite expensive, > $359 for the most important tests.
Last wk the best price I could find for the most serious, common STDs is via stdcheck dot com.
Their 10 Test Panel was down to $124 with a $15 coupon at the top of the page before placing the order. The only 2 tests that take more than 24hrs to result were/are the Gonorrhea and Chlamydia, because those take up to 4-7 days to appear, if present. I like that stdcheck dot com has the majors in a single panal order; (appropriate) tests within their 10 tests panel, and easy, quick, reliable service at a great price.

My personal minimum ( <12mon old) current STD results requirement from fucks (5): Hep B, Hep C, Herpes 1&2, HIV, Syphylis. All can go un-noticed for up to 30yrs, are spread upon contact, especially via saliva and are lethal when not detected and treated timely. Herpes is life long and not usually lethal. I require lab work at least annually, so whenever I'm haing lab work done, I remind my phycisian to include all STD labs.

Peace and have fun staying safe. Gel

never knew they had OTC STD tests other than the hiv test kits. but its cheap (free) and easy to go to a clinic and get all of them tested

I would like some help here that may not only help me, but educate others. I would like to know who uses OTC STD test kits. How do you like them and where do you find them.

OTC stands for "Over The Counter" for those who may not be aware and please include any internet sources for purchase.

What testing you look for would be helpful as well. Thank You.
