More like twitter purge, ROFLMMFAO.

Twitter fact checks Elizabeth Warren on her claim that Biden can eliminate student loans with a executive order .
Lol , the tide has changed .
@DB
Seeing that you want to play whataboutism . . .
Twitter had 50% of their employees laid off. There have also been some exodus of people after that due to Musk's actions.
Facebook had about 87k employees. They laid off about 15%.
Here is a weird thing to notice :)
Google basically prints fucking money. Their ad network is THEE ad network.
They recently implemented something interesting in their ads. My wife works at a place that spends, across all the companies, about $5mm a month with Google on ads. Ads have always had to be prepaid. My wife remembered a trick we did back in the 90s to pay with plastic to get a fuck ton of frequent flyer miles. Before they were spending 5mm a month :) she had them get corporate credit cards so that the company could get the miles. Well, those cards have limits. So they found Capital One would give 2% back on prepaid cards and create virtual cards. So she had them create virtual cards for each department that would do buys. She put in place that they had to let her team know by Thursday the spend for the coming week. Her team would fund the cards by Friday and come Monday, the buy would occur. The company was getting 2% back on 60mm spend.
Google missed the numbers last quarter.
Google implemented a no credit card payment anymore, ACH only. Google was getting tired of paying the fees to the processors and found a way to raise their margins. It cost my wife's company over $1mm.
Musk did the thing that I understand but despise. His purchase of twitter, the debt, went on Twitter's books. He has saddled Twitter with 1.2bn of debt payment. The highest profit that Twitter ever had, iirc, was 1.3bn.
Musk mentioned yesterday that bankruptcy is NOT off the table. I had to think about this for a while, but who the hell are the creditors? Generally in the nerd world, you really don't get credit per se because your expenses are monthly. As an example, AWS, the largest provider of servers/storage/services may require a pre-payment of X amount and knowing that it will probably exceed it. They will not risk the whole amount of the monthly bill. So if a company was spending $10-12mm a month with AWS, AWS may want $10mm pre-paid and risk the potential for $2mm.
So Musk BKing over that makes no sense. What makes sense? Employment contracts. Those would get destroyed in BK. It could stop him from vesting shares. It could stop him from a lot of issues regarding employment. I don't think he could BK his way out of the debt he saddled Twitter with, because it is more than likely personally guaranteed.
From what I get sent to my email about Twitter, it looks like Musk has a sense of humor. The 2 examples that come to mind are "Let that sink in" and claiming Kathie Griffin was suspended for "impersonating a comedian".
And since the horrors of mass layoffs entered this thread, Meta, the parent company of Facebook, is going to layoff 11,000 because their share value has plummeted.

Lets send all the fetinyal back to chinkville along with an infected brain washing version of tic tic.. I was in a waiting room today.. 4 young kids being brainwashed and infected staring into a stupid little phone nonstop as parents watched or were doing the same stupid thing, then you wonder why the USA is turning into a bunch of dumb bastards..
“I am still saying that it is Musk's sandbox. He can do whatever he wants, as long as it is legal.”
I could give a rats ass what he does with it. I find it funny the Conservatives boy crush is doing exactly what they think he won’t do.
Get the fuk off twitter and facebook... the chinks are trying to fuk up americans brains and the ingredients the mexicans get for fetinyal come from that chinklville....reported the other day...fact...
I am still saying that it is Musk's sandbox. He can do whatever he wants, as long as it is legal. I still think he is going to learn what free speech really means.
I chuckled when a lot of people changed their 'verified' names to Elon Musk and tweeted out things and that pissed him off. Uhh . . . didn't they poke a hole in what you are proclaiming as a solution?
I still think that Musk is going to learn that if he doesn't make the place as free as possible of outright hate, then he is going to see that the only advertisers will be the same ones that are on Parler, et al. Now, of course, one could argue that Tide should advertise on those platforms. You need that detergent to ensure your sheets are white when wearing them.
I have also chuckled at a comment from a CAPITALIST that I have never heard before. Dorsey apologized for growing the company too big. Are you fucking kidding me? He took the company public, cashed the fuck out and Wall Street demands growth or they toss you to the side.
Looks like Free Speech isn’t alive at the tweeter.
Musk is already banning accounts.
They’re are good reasons why he took it private.
That's what libs do...
See now the UN is suggesting to Musk how to run his new company, such a joke. Another organization that is a waste of time and our money.
Been on it for years, rarely post but I do enjoy following some comedians and athletes on it mostly. I prefer IG
I never used Twitter in the first place.
i dropped rwitter
Dear
@elonmusk:
You have nearly 114,000,000 Twitter followers.
Name and shame the advertisers who are succumbing to the advertiser boycotts.
So we can counter-boycott them.
And get your $8 monthly subscription going asap.
So we can start to makeup for lost revenue now.

Why is he saying "we"?
He might as well go into the main server room and pull all the plugs once he charges $8 per month.
@Flip
Were they evil when Trump was on Twitter?
:)
They're evil imo.
"Not a fan of hearing people losing jobs but in this case it's great. Fuck'em"
These ppl have mortgages, bills, kids and parents to take care of. But you say fuck them because of your political feelings?
@5
Want to play the keystone game? Come on . . . let us dance :)
Are you ok with eminent domain?
Are you ok with it for a Canadian company?
If you want to be technical, the number of jobs lost was 50. Yes, FIFTY. The construction was temporary jobs. It was to last a year maybe two and hit at MOST 4k employees. The FIFTY were the permanent employees.
But wait . . . aren't those jobs construction jobs? They are skilled but not highly skilled jobs per se. Perhaps those people were hired for the infrastructure jobs that Biden put out.
Again, Twitter is Musks. He has to respond to only his small investor pool. If he wants to turn the thing off tomorrow, no problem. If he wants to charge $100 a month, no problem. What he can't do with it is illegal things. He is going to ride that line and perhaps open pandora's box for Section 230 changes. The pendulum may not swing in the direction that you or I want.
It’s great that twitter employees are losing their jobs because you hate twitter or because you believe the ones losing their jobs were responsible for moderating it?
Do you really think any of these low ranking employees had the authority to boot trump off the site or are you just happy that so many are part of the collateral damage?

Hey Flip . . .
Did you read? Boeing is firing all the people in Charleston. There went 5700 jobs. Mercedes decided that they wanted to be nationalists again and are closing down the factory there as well.
Glad those jobs are gone. Fuck the germans and fuck the company that creates military weapons. So fuck 'em.
Now, don't I sound like a good American?
HINT: What I wrote did not happen.
Now in sort of defense of Musk.
It looks like he learned from his previous mistake in trying to just fire people on the whim. He got sued in CA and IRONICALLY Texas for doing that. You can't do mass layoffs without notifying the state 60 days in advance. I learned that when I had to fire 1000 people! You have to also let the people know it's coming. Musk's lesson was to keep the people on the payroll until Feb of next year. They are in effect, getting paid to sit at home. There will be severance, etc. +1 to Musk for following some legal advice :)
I think he is going to run into the same issues he has had in the past. He thinks he can automate his way through everything and forget that people are needed for things. He did that with Tesla. He did that with SpaceX. He then has an epiphany and then still bitches about it. What is interesting is that he did get rid of all the people in the machine learning area that was being built and maintained for content moderation. He also got rid of all the moderators.
Each country has it's own laws regarding speech. Now, imagine on Monday, in China, there is a ton of stuff written against the government. What happens then? Twitter may be 'turned off' in China. Tesla may see ramifications for it. If you think I am reaching, no, I am not, it is really that simple. Other countries do not owe anything to a foreign company. They can be as nationalistic as MAGATS want us to be.
@EA..
“ Let's see . . .
News outlets have anywhere from 3700 to 4700 employees let go at Twitter.
Are conservatives happy that a bunch of Americans were laid off during the holiday season?”
Are you happy that by the stoke of a pen that 4000 to 7500 great paying jobs were erased in one day for the Ketstone?
“Not a fan of hearing people losing jobs but in this case it's great. ”
Why? What makes these good lost jobs?
