You hear a lot shit. Usually it's your own farts.

JC555,

I’ve never offered an explanation for each individual’s behavior among those who broke into the Capitol in illegal and and sometimes violent actions.

Some of the people who attended the protest and listened to Trump and Giuliani did not go for “trial by combat” or “kicking ass” (the words of Mo Brooks representing Alabama in Congress).

Do you have any generalizations about why people acted in illegal ways? What were they trying to do? Why were they doing it?

I have my opinions about this informed by history and my political beliefs and by my effort to study it by listening to evidence and testimony.

What motivated Southern states and people to rebel against the election of Lincoln in 1860? I have studied this a lot and have, I feel, informed judgments about this, guided in part by reading original sources and some of the best histories of the Civil War.

I like comparing the rebellion against an election in 1860 with that in 2020. I see similarities (as well as some differences).

Why do you think Rep. Mo Brooks called for people to “kick ass” on January 6th?

Let’s focus on his intentions and motivations (or those of Rep. Tuberville who objected to electoral certification of votes from some states).

Do you think the majority of people in Alabama support what Mo Brooks said and called for on January 6th?

2muchfun......depends on what those 5 were doing to say you would stay.

8inch.....I have heard BLM leaders calling their movement and acts a revolution. Does your punishment apply to them? Does the actions of some mean the whole crowd is bad? I say no.

We would go to that swinger party if 95 out of 100 were acting right.

Sapp.......I think most did not think it would escalate to what it did. Myself included as I watched on live TV. I honestly believe that people read all this stuff on social media and think well it must be true so they set around and stew about it all day long. There are stories of people actually fighting against each other while there. A lot realized it was getting out of hand and tried to stop others. I think it happens in all protests at some points. We could throw a party with 100 swingers and a good chance maybe 5 will act a fool and ruin it. Big crowds and gatherings on things people are mad about to many times go bad.

If it was a "revolution", then Trump and his ppl were conspirators and deserve their necks getting stretched.

Why are they enjoying freedom and perks of living in America?

They need to have their citizenship stripped.

JC555,

What happened on January 6th can fairly be called a insurrection against the government in my opinion.

It went beyond mere protest as many people protesting engaged in violent and criminal actions.

Why people invaded the Capitol and engaged in violence and illegal actions can be debated and will be investigated.

What do you think motivated people in the mob to act violently and illegally?

For sure. I even started a thread about a couple of years ago when I first started posting in the forums.

Resorting to trash talking and name calling is the first sign that you're losing a debate.

2muchfun......don't call out one yet completely ignore the others. If you have such a problem with things like trash talk then it should apply to all. Correct?

San Luis Obispo, CA, Us

Feel free to review mine. I don't get caught up in the trash talking and name calling. Just stating my opinions is all.

2muchfun.......I have and said I was guilty. How about review your own while you are at it.

Sapp.....let's really be realistic here. If that mob of people all truly wanted to overthrow the government don't you think they would have done so, or at least taken out all the politicians. They did not have enough police or security there to stop that crowd who you imply were all there to do so. They had by far the number of people their to do it if that was the goal of everyone there.

"How you want to do it? Talk civil or talk trash? Tell us what you want."

Maybe review your own last 100 posts.

In the USA, there is a Judicial branch to check the power of the Executive and Legislative branches and to prevent mob rule.

Trump stirred up the mob to illegal actions.

The Confederacy in 1861 did not accept the results of the 1860 election that Lincoln won, and rebelled in an insurrection.

A Confederacy, led by a Trump, did not accept the decision of our electoral and judicial processes that elected Biden president, and rebelled in an insurrection on January 6th.

The arrested rebels will face the justice of the criminal legal process.

Trump will be judged by the Senate.

A majority will find him guilty but to be convicted of impeachment requires a super majority of the Senate, not just 51 votes but two-thirds of the vote.

History will no doubt judge Trump as joining another impeached president—Andrew Johnson—as one of our two worst presidents.

Why some people in these forums are so willing to kiss Trump’s ass and support his lies is a matter for their conscience.

Why people believe QANon and Trump is also a matter for abnormal psychology.

No I think it was some fraud but it has yet to be proven and doesn't look like it will be. So that is over to me. You come in here all big and bad and spout nothing but your opinion yet can't handle another so you try to be all big and bad. Lol

"To many believe it was an election won by fraud"

You came in here all big and bad spouting the same nonsense.

Have you changed your mind?

To many believe it was an election won by fraud, some idiots thought they could physically do something about it. Others were just to protest. I hate the woman was shot and killed but also know she should not have put herself in the situation. She made a bad decision and paid for it. The policeman also lost his life because of idiots doing ignorant stuff. Like David Dorn lost his life simply for trying to protect his friends business.

J C, "Hopefully it is him" doesn't sound like a plan has come together". I should say, "Hopefully their plan comes together." What a way to, DRAIN THE SWAMP IN ONE SWOOP.

Havingfun....if you say "Hopefully it is him" doesn't sound like a plan has come together. Lol

The purpose for the BLM demonstration was to protest against the inequities of police interactions with black people.

The purpose for the demonstration on January 6th was to overturn a legitimate election.

Surely you can tell the difference.

Netflix movie,,,,, "Designated Survivor",,,,,, Does anyone know who the Designated Survivor will be on,  January 20, 2021? President Trump will be in Florida. Hopefully it is him. "I love it when a plan comes together"

I think everyone is about law and order mostly. What some interrupt as calling for a riot others saw nothing of the such. If we say all BLM protesters are all rioters then how do we say all people there were only there to riot. Sure the majority is mostly people there to peacefully protest but you always have the knuckle heads who make the entire group look bad. Weed out and find the rioters and prosecute them.

Impeachment by it's very nature has always been a political issue.

Do you believe inciting an insurrectionist "revolution" against the government should go unchecked?

I thought conservatives were all about law and order.
