Fox, Newsweek, Snopes, and USA confirms that the Constitution was removed from White House web pages.

What is your source that it has not been removed? I even went to the White House website. There, I could not find the Constitution or any information about any other former Presidents.

In the effort to be fair, I added that the removal of The Constitution is supposed to be temporary.

Someonescoming - I could be wrong, but I think that the whole post that you're referring to was meant to be sarcasm. At least that's how I took it, and I do not have an overly accurate sarcasm detector ;-)

So far, so good.

I was thinking along the lines of the 3 times rule of baseball and Beetlejuice.

I better shut up; for now. There might be a 4 times rule in this game.

Goodenuf - My bad. I was just looking for more of a "Has anyone ever heard of this sort of thing from a US president before in general?". Apparently the answer was "No". Color me surprised ;-)

What the fuckity-fuck, fuck?

You do realize we're gonna need a new "WTF" thread when this one gets moved to Politics don't ya?

It is a likelihood that the Republicans are going to have a Come to Jesus Meeting.

Dementia Donnie will cause an in-house implosion if they don't control him.

Give that crazy due mental competency tests every 4-6 months.

There's so many hands up that Clown Puppet's ass, its hard to always know who's doing the talking.

The new administration has also frozen grant payments, and frozen all travel ‘indefinitely’ and cancelled attendance at various external meetings of National Institutes of Health staff.

Why? The simple answer is, trump wants to control the distribution all information, which he tried to do during the COVID 19 outbreak in his first term.

“The only concern would be if this is a prelude to going back to a prior approach of silencing the agencies around a political narrative.” Dr Ali Khan, a former CDC outbreak investigator who is now dean of the University of Nebraska’s public health college.

To say more will get this moved to the political forum so suffice it to say, we have a president with an aversion to facts, science and reality who only wants you to hear what he wants you to hear.

If that doesn’t send chills down your spine, you need to start reading up on what it means to have state run media.

Don’t ha know, we are going on an information diet. The Constitution has been taken down from the web on the Whitehouse pages, temporarily, they say. The Trump Bible has cut out the amendments after the first 10.

We don’t have to worry about diseases anymore. Rather than staying home with an illness, wearing masks, or worrying, we are free to carry on. Survival of the fittest!

We don’t have to worry about feeling bad about ourselves as Americans. The National Archives has removed displays and webpages about things like interment camps and stealing land from the natives. Yes, there was slavery, but most slaves were treating like beloved members of the family (ahem). Teachers will no longer be bothering students what some might refer to as the truth. Their funds will be cut!

Texas no longer reviews the maternal death rates. If we don’t review it, we can’t find an increase. If we don’t find an increase, it doesn’t count does it? We can’t say it really happened and we can be happy, happy, happy.

Don’t you feel a little bit better without that pesky information? The President can tell you how much better things are and you won’t hear any different. Isn’t that a relief?

I get these emails, usually for emergency weather info, but also get health alerts from them, such as food recalls and other health related outbreaks. I got one with the content below. Perhaps more of a "Why The Fuck...." vs a "What The Fuck". I've never heard of this being done before -

Trump officials ask US health agencies to pause external communications

The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has instructed federal health agencies to pause all external communications, such as health advisories, weekly scientific reports, updates to websites and social media posts, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday, citing a dozen current and former officials and sources.

The instructions were delivered on Tuesday to staff at agencies inside the Department of Health and Human Services, including officials at the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and National Institutes of Health, the newspaper reported. The agencies had no immediate comment.

Trump took office on Monday.

The Washington Post said that it was not clear from the guidance given by the new administration whether the directive would affect more urgent communications, such as foodborne disease outbreaks, drug approvals and new bird flu cases.

Stefanie Spear, a Department of Health deputy chief of staff, instructed agency staff on Tuesday morning to pause external communications, the newspaper reported.

Some officials cited by the newspaper were quoted as saying that the move is aimed at helping newly installed Trump health officials understand the vast flow of information coming out of health agencies.

Prescription drugs , have y’all seen the Mark Cuban drug company …Cost plus drug company . I was picking up
Lovaza last night at the pharmacy last night . The price went up again . The pharmacist tried to get the price down but three months with Goodrx was over 80.00 …..I play with my phone , three months supply on Cost Plus 18.77.
I am going to learn about his company , he was cheaper than any brick and morter using Goodrx and other programs the pharmacy uses.

But just think of something . When I was a kid in Ohio if I got sick my father took me to old Doc Cassidy. Was he a good doctor , loved to give shots my father always said Doc Cassidy was a great doctor. He was a Navy doctor in WW2 . But when you visited doc Cassidy his office was the bottom floor of his house . To visit Doc Cassidy was 8.00.
But he had a front office , a sign in and a few car magazines and lots coughing little kids. Sometimes his wife his nurse would come out . But long story short there was no paperwork or not many regulations . He was like a shade tree mechanic , he kept a lot of people alive . Oh yes prescriptions for common problems , a cold or something he gave you pills in a little envelope . In todays world , an example right before Christmas I had a procedure done I kid you not I was receiving daily texts from the center . I had to fill out six pages online , on and on . My regular doctor used to be like old Doc Cassidy had his own office . Today his office is a Baskin and Robbin’s . He was forced to join the Memorial System . You visit him now he has an army of people IT people accounting people , he has a monster administration dept. .Once he told me it was hard to operate as an independent , dealing with changing regulations , insurance companies, Pharma. Sales people . ….This business has grown into a nightmare and when you ask your doctor …….He just wants to make you well.

There certainly is bad behavior in pharma. You'll get no argument from me.

But I reject several popular notions, such as pharma companies hiding cures in order to keep us sick, or that patent protection should be withdrawn.

"This is my point, government healthcare is not sufficient for your healthcare needs, you also need a private insurance plan."

This applies to some or maybe even many, but not all.

The VA covers us Vets for conditions related to military service.

And those of us that are 100%, it covers vision, dental, ALL meds most surgeries, many cosmetic or elective surgeries, referrals to specialists and surgeons on the civil sector.

There are those that want to paint certain industries as boogey men. Big pharma is mentioned a lot. Like any other company, most in that space are just trying to turn a profit like any other business. It gets more touchy when life saving tech is out of reach due to cost.

Sometimes there are real boogey men in that space, like the ones that cornered the epipen market and drove the prices up just because they could, but that is a small part of that industry.

It's no secret that a lot of drugs come out of India, and people have access to them if they so choose when it comes to generics. Since we're so global now, it highlights things that help people paint this boogey man face on whole US industries. An example using epipen prices -

First and most importantly, Thank You for your service!

For those that are unhappy about their VA care, in my opinion, it's not designed to be your Primary Care. That's where your current employer or out of pocket medical plan bridges the gap.

This is my point, government healthcare is not sufficient for your healthcare needs, you also need a private insurance plan.

I'm aware that I don't speak for everyone but, as individual services members and veterans, there should be no horror stories or excessive delays in health care.

How is that different than any other industry or line of business?

Tell all of that to the bigwigs that line their pockets off of those that do the work under them. ;-)

Big Pharma relies on people being sick.

Big Auto relies on people needing cars.

Big Grocery relies on people being hungry.

Big Movie relies on people liking movies.

Big Condom relies on people being horny.

It's an industry meeting a need and little else. Go back to chewing on tree roots and eating eye of newt out of a cauldron if that's what you think is best.
