As I get closer to my retirement date (end of Jan 2026), I've been allowing our LS social calendar to expand as opportunities presented themselves. Still, this is crazy busy even for us.

Normally, if we had one weekday play date other than a Friday, it was kind of a lot. In the past year or so we added a regular weekly Tuesday play date with one couple that has now become 2 couples for dinner, cards, and play time most times. It looks like we will be having a similar thing now on Thursdays. Mon was a one-off thing and Fri is a couple of close LS friends coming for dinner, and all of this just happened to land on a week with a LS party.

We usually just leave things as play time is just an option when we get together with friends at the house, but our friends have all been wanting to exercise that option.

That's a lot of sport fucking. The only times we've done play with others every day is if we are at some sort of resort like Hedo Desire Bliss Cruise etc.

This time of year for us is generally REALLY busy, and this year has been no exception. Onehorneywife - That could be as much the nature of groups as anything. I have a local group on another site. It has 86 member, and most of those are couples, so well over 100 people. I tried to set up a Meet & Greet and got the same sort of minimal response.

We are lucky to have the parties we do plus the ablity to have our own parties. It can take a bit to get parties established, but once they are they seem to take on a life of their own. The problem is if you're starting off with a hotel room party, you have to pay for the room. You can wind up losing money in the begining to get one started. People sign up and either cancel last minute or just don't show.

Someone (like us) that has a house well suited to house parties makes it easier by taking the money part out of the equation. Ours started by inviting people that we met and played with at other local parties and we add new guests occasionally from meeting people online or at parties. Due to the nature of play at our parties, we really need to meet people in person first because it's very likely that less experienced people would be overwhelmed. Hell, I've seen some experienced people get overwhelmed at our parties ;-)

If I were to ever start another group, I would limit it to people that actually meet and play, preferably at a local party. People that will actually get off their couch, get in their car and drive someplace to attend a party or play date. There are just too many that sign up for groups with no real intentions of meeting people, or so it seems.

Count yourself lucky as there isn't anything worthwhile going on around this area. A member set up a new group out of Knoxville and will have a meet and greet this coming Wednesday evening. 27 people in the group and only 4 have committed to the M &G. That includes the group coordinator and us. Very sad!

While things have been somewhat slow in the forums, the play time activity this time of year seems to be off the wall and I hope it is the same for others in their areas. Halloween is one of those peak times, but even a month or so before it has been event filled. We had one week a month ago where we attended 3 parties in a 7-day span.

Up coming, there is a party next Sat we can't make because we'll be at our timeshare, but posted Hot Dates for the timehare area, so we'll see. The weekend after that is our Halloween party that's looking like it will easily be 50+ guests, then another Halloweeen party on the 31st.

One year we had a party right after Thanksgiving and made it a "Leftover Thanksgiving Dinner Pot Luck" that worked well, but will be unable to do that this year. It really has to be the Sat right after so the leftovers are still reasonably fresh. Of course, nobody is coming to the party for the food, but it does make the pot luck part that much easier. Last time I think we cooked anoter turkey just for the party.

There are of course plenty of Christmas and New Years parties, and one of the hosts we know got a new venue and it's looking like she'll be having 2-3 parties a month. These are SM friendly parties, which we prefer. We have another friend that does weekday parties, but this time of year he's in Florida.

All of this is in addition to our regulars on Tuesdays and it's around this time of year that our regular Thursday couple frees up. We do still meet new people from the site as well and have started something new for us, which is having a guy over on occasion to do a MFM with the Mrs. Did one Fri with the male half of a LS couple we know well. Still looking to get 3 or 4 reliable guys that can work well with each other to maybe give the Mrs a small gangbang once a month or so.

Some people do a regular vanilla thing like a bowling league, pool night, darts, bingo, etc. For us, this is kind of like the LS version of that, but wouldn't rule out some fun vanilla activities thrown in.

Today we have another LS couple we're close with coming over for dinner, cards, and some play time. Good way to spend a cloudy dreary Sunday. It's also a good way to get some regular physical activity, health-wise. Plus, this is way more fun than going for a walk, or to the gym.

Goodenuf - Since there are people that are snowbirds, I don't see why people can't be sunbirds. NH tends to be really nice in the summer, though we do get our hot/humid weather at times.

At one point we were considering turning our house into a B&B. I can only imagine what that could be like if we made it a LS B&B ;-)

The problem is that making it a business means that the $500K or so that would be a capital gains write off, would not be if our home went from a primary residence to a business AFAIK.

There are a lot of people like us in our area. People that would really like to play and make FWBs, but can't seem to find others to do that with. We can host, we love to entertain, and I seem to have a knack for finding them. Sometimes they find us. There is value in having a decent profile.

It is very rewarding when people find us, or I them, and they say, "Why can't it be this easy all the time?". I don't have an answer to that question as I too sometimes wonder what many of these people here and on other sites are even online for.

Many of the people that we do know or that I find, like being more-the-merrier types. This allows us to see more of our LS friends that way and our LS friends get to make more friends as well. It's a win/win for everyone. This has just grown to the point that make weeks like this one possible.

Unfortunately, unless I find these people or they find us, I suspect many just give up. We are active in the LS because we stay active in the LS. If we were out of it long enough, there may be less interest given enough time (i.e. use it or lose it).

I also see so many more people that I'd love to be able to pull into our group, but they are just too far away. There are also only so many days in the week and hours in the day. Barring any major health issues, the LS will definitely be one of our retirement "hobbies".

It's turning out to be an incredibly busy week LS-wise. We had 2 couples over on Tue to go out to eat, then cards and play time back at our house. Was supposed to have another couple yesterday to do the same, but they had to cancel last minute.
