Personal Coronavirus Stories

Since I am now fully vaccinated, I took a trip up to see my mother and sister.

My mother just turned 82, but has not gotten any vaccination yet. She lost her ID (which is strange since they haven't left the house in a year).

My sister is disabled with depression, and finds it very difficult most days to leave her room.

My absence is really showing.

But I am glad that I got to see them.

Kibbs,

So sorry for your loss.

Thank you, BT, for pointing out my typo. False NEGATIVE is a lot more common than false POSITIVE.

On a tremendously more serious note, my step mom died of covid at 1:24 this morning

I am beyond ferklempt

Got my first jab three weeks ago and had mild discomfort at the injection point. No other symptoms.

Got my second one yesterday and same discomfort after about 6 hours then had a fitful night’s sleep and experienced some pain in my joints (which rabbit experienced but I didn’t when we had the virus). It was almost like, “oh, you didn’t have this burning painful sensation in your hips, ankles and wrists? Here you go!”

By morning all had subsided and I felt like the worst had passed but now I am feverish and run down. But still, I feel like I could work if I needed to but I’m glad to have an off day to get back up to speed.

It does seem like those who have had the virus have fewer and less severe symptoms from the shots. I am definitely not complaining compared to when I had the actual virus.

Rabbit is scheduled for her first dose tomorrow. Also Pfizer.

Thanks BT.

One vaccine should be plenty to allocate to 16 and 17 year old kids that are too young for the others. If it wasn't obvious, the vaccine that Oxford is studying for 6+ is the Astra Zeneca which they developed.

We never stopped either most our friends did though ....But last night downtown Houston was a rockin No more masks . Not a bunch of kids but successful business people . Burning masks on Washington Ave.

Both had Pfizer both doses.. no issues one had sore arm.

Back to partying, playing sports and traveling .. oh wait.. we never stopped.. next two months.. Charleston SC / Florida / Back to Ga soon!

Current, yes, Pfizer. My ex actually scheduled it for yesterday at a local CVS. My daughter’s with me now,, and other than a sore arm, so far, so good.

16 is presently the minimum for one of the vaccines. I though it was Moderna but according to BT sounds like Pfizer. As VA says 12 is the current minimum age under consideration in studies that are expected to be completed by summer. But late last month Oxford University began enrolling a study of children as young as 6.

Talked to a guy about someone who passed at the other club.

The guy was late 50's and spent the last 3 months in the hospital.

The Pfizer trial for younger children was fully enrolled by late January. We might have enough safety and efficacy data to lower the age to 12 by the summer.

CnK, that I didn’t know. I just assumed they’d lowered the age min based on preexisting conditions.

Pfizer vaccine is approved for 16+

Moderna is 18+

8”, She falls into one of the exception categories. So, she’s eligible.

Didn't know under 18 were getting vaccinations.

Good to hear it though.

I was able to get the moderna vaccine two weeks ago Friday. Only reaction was a sore arm for a few days. My daughter, 16, will get the first of two Pfizer doses next week. She starts back on a hybrid 3/2 school schedule next week.

Took our Covid tests this morning (PCR) and already got the results back, even though they told us it would be 24-48 hours. Our timing must have been good. Results came back negative, as expected.

That7girl,

While some might think that’s the case, others might think that’s the case. The truth is that Kibbs, should she read my last post, will know I’m just horsing around.

bridge, are you being passive aggressive?

The only other option I can think of is that, a week after the only minimal symptoms my friend had, somehow she wasn't still contagious.

Kibbs, I really, really want that last post to make sense ;-)
