Fun Facts

You mean card games, example: Poker, blackjack at tables?

"And I'll add to Jinxs' post, that i never came across people who do very well financially who also play lottery or any of these dumbass games. "

There's hundreds of them in casino's high roller areas all across the world.

And I'll add to Jinxs' post, that i never came across people who do very well financially who also play lottery or any of these dumbass games.

Sav: i do not disagree that you are paying for some mindless entertainment which is fun. I am all for it. In fact, i spend quite a bit of money just to have fun. It is relative to ones own definition. Yes, i have purchased the big MM and PB tix.

What is stupid is a country full of people with zero to their name, with the exception being a wallet full of tickets. The money spent on fun and dreaming should be well after ones financial house is in order because that dream aint coming true and the lottery habit of hope is a waste of that money. I have never met anyone who plays regularly and also has their future secure with a goal and a plan. NEVER. In my book, because the order is assbackwards it is a stupid purchase.

And chachi: taking a risk to build something is far different than taking a risk by consistently pissing money away on a pipedream.

I prefer taking calculated, intelligent risks with money that doesn't come easily to me.

It's stupid if you're spending money you needed for gas in your car or food on your table.

"I seriously doubt winning 100mil would make my life any better. The stories have long been told about the lives wrecked by this money. Does the additional fun outweigh all the bad that comes with a sum that is too big to handle? Surely it provides some fun dream time but in reality a good life is not made with money. "

I think about that all the time. I just rationalize that I'm waaaay smarter than those who end up miserable. :-)

I play when the lotteries are around 100 million. I think playing the lottery is like any kind of gambling: If you do it for entertainment, with money you can afford to burn, than it's fine.

Everything's related. Ever heard of the "Choucho Effect"?

They both are longshots and some of you are indicating that people who take longshots are stupid.

A dollar for a few hours of dreaming isn't stupid at all............more then a dollar is another story lol.
I don't buy them myself either but I don't think anything that gives you a few moments of happiness or hours of dreaming is stupid.
It's all about priorities we all spend money "foolishly" based on someone else's ideal. Spending a 100.00 for dinner only to be hungry in a few hours might seem stupid to some people, 5,000 for a vacation, 2.00 for a Hot Wheel...it's all relative. If you can afford to spend it...enjoy it any way you like. If you can't afford it but think sometimes you deserve a small pleasure anyway...rock on.

On the silly side of things I frequently say " As soon as I win the lottery" such and such will happen.......if you don't play you can't win doesn't seem to play into my logic.

Mrs Sav....who is going to buy a lottery ticket JUST BECAUSE she can.

Building wealth and winning wealth are unrelated.

Yes people who spend money on lottery and scratch off are stupid.

"attempting what?"

To become wealthy.

I don't play the lottery often, but when I do, I buy all the numbers so I am guaranteed to win!

attempting what?

So I guess the 1645 billionaires in the world (according to Forbes) are all stupid people for attempting something with such a low probability of happening (something like 1 in 4,250,000).

LOL Now that is funny! I can be loud sometimes. Usually draw a crowd, at parties, when it happens.

Hahah

I had a 26 year old last week but she wasn't very interesting. Basically she liked to get pounded but didn't really know what she was doing otherwise.

No...I forgot about that..she moans with a Russian accent. This one was at a party that our friends hold about once a month. She's part of poly triad. Probably the most perfect combo of body and face. She and B hit it off from the moment they laid eyes on each other.

So anyway, they went upstairs. And then we all ran upstairs because it sounded like he was killing her. Normally I laugh at the screamers as fakers. But this one...omg. ..that was no faking. But he kept covering her mouth. And at one point he had her standing against the wall...With his hand over her mouth, when she bit his hand. She bit him so hard that he reacted. And she loved his reaction asked for more. But he couldn't take it anymore. He pulled out removed the rubber and came on her stomach.

LOL Was that the one he couldn't stand her accent?

Carrie

Lol I was wondering....specially considering hubby's experience a little over a month ago, with a 22 year old... which I & our group have been mocking him about mercilessly because he kept covering her mouth during .....

FF is I really shouldn't post when I have had a bottle of wine. That should have been VA isn't the only one.

Carrie

True...Though partially ;). I know that I wouldn't be a statistic had I won. But I wouldn't win. I ain't stupid, I don't play.

If you don't think you'll ever be able to earn enough money to give yourself and your family a better life, you're willing to take a chance on a crazy long-shot.

FF:

A scrap metal dealer in "The US" (wishes to remain anonymous) bought a golden egg-shaped object for $13,300 from an antique dealer. He planned to melt it to recover the gold and sell it.

Curiously, he googled "egg" and "Vacheron Constantin". He discovered that the object he had in his possession was an Imperial Faberge Easter Egg. This specific egg, created by Carl Faberge for Tsar Alexander III in 1887, was last seen in 1902 and had thought to have been long ago scrapped for its gold content. Its estimated value is about $33 million. Where it has been for the last 111 years is probably an interesting story but we'll likely never really know it.

JW: Will Russia attempt to get their hands on the egg on the grounds that it is stolen property?
