99 yr old profiles

Exactly.

I don't want to show up in everyone's searches. I first did it because SLS takes your profile offline if you say you're on a break. I wasn't, exactly, just not particularly interested in seeing new people and unwilling to deal with the chore of telling scores of people that each month, plus then and now the forums are a continuing interest. Then I discovered that something about listing my age as 99 not only cut down the number of people, it also cut way down on the amount of stupid in my inbox. So, I've kept it and just aged down a year with every birthday.

SF- in your last post you explained exactly why they list as 99. They don’t want to turn up in searches. They are “taking a break” or not seeking new people, don’t want to be bothered, etc...

Since saying in your profile you are “taking a break” causes SLS to take your profile offline this is an easy work around.

Couldn't they simply choose 40, 50, or 60 if in that age range.
My reason for wanting to know is this. My search parameters are 36-70, so a couple or SW would not show up in my search if their age was 99. If they have a picture, I am not sure that not telling their age makes sense to me. Just my humble opinion.

While I certainly would tip my hat to a couple still swinging into their Silver Senior years.
It is somewhat confusing to see a person's profile who clearly is not 99.

This is only 2nd to 0 lbs!

Maybe someone could explain their reasoning.
