Animals dont get fat?? LOL you should see my neighbors dog, so fat it can barley walk. Fat is very rare in nature, All animals crave fat as part of their DNA because there are three times as many calories in fat as in carbs or sugars. Wild animals never know when they will eat again so they need to stuff as many calories in their stomach as possible. Wild animals have so little body fat that most carnivores eat the organs of an animal they kill first to get at any of the fat that animal would have.
Atkins died of a heart attack, no human can eat a high fat diet and not destroy their heart. This is basic medical science.
These fad TV diet are destroying the heath of so many Americans and causing serious health issues with so many children. A diet without complex carbs in it prevents the absorption of zinc, which is critical to the development of the brain in a fetus..this is the cause of the huge rise in Autism.
Animals and people crave sugar as part of their DNA because that is the sign that wild fruit is safe to eat.
Medical science is not in the dark ages. Everything is known about what one eats and how it affects a persons body, health and life expediency.
But I guess its easy to blindly believe someone selling snake oil and miracles, eat what you want and dont have to exercise and you will look like a rock star....snake oil is huge business in America.
Let's Talk Type 2 Diabetes
..and I really hate educating idiots so try and think a little more before you reply.
"Black a high fat diet .. blah blah blah.."
Who said they have one? I can't listen to your CRAP man unless you stop twisting what's been posted by others.
Fat Summit is the next Atkins...everyone who believes this con man is going to die from a stroke. We humans evolved to crave fat because of its high calorie content and because it was very very rare in nature.
Wild animals have very little fat on their bodies, unless they have been eating farm crops. Birds eggs where hard to come by and only around for a few weeks. Our bodies never evolved to eat a diet high in fat or high in sugar.
Your pancreas does not do anything with fat..it controls the sugar levels in your blood. Only sugar in your diet affect this organ.
See... that's what I mean. , You say stuff that was taught in grade school, and act like you are teaching some mind blowing stuff...lol. You continue to demonstrate and personify ignorance. That's your problem! Stop showing how little you know, and work on what you don't know.
By the way... starting Monday, look up the Fat Summit, hosted by Dr. Hyman. Again, Google it. I would see if its in Flex magazine, or posted on bodybuilding sites or somewhere, because I'm sure you need something with pictures, and stick figures, but I don't think its in those places.
He brings together many of the top experts to talk about the FACTS about Fat. If you don't watch, I'm going to call you out every chance I get. Because, you want to cling to ignorance in the face of knowledge.
Black a high fat diet blows out your heart and the blood vessels in your brain. Also causes colon cancer..Nothing worst then surviving a stroke only to shit cancer.
If i had to chose i will take a blown out pancreas.
Yep...I'm going to still eat fat. Thanks man and enjoy the games!
Gee really? You mean a high sugar diet blows out your pancreas..nooooo kiidding...do you know the function of the pancreas in the human body?
Sorry about the spelling errors everyone. I'm on my tablet.
Kcal, just because it's Saturday, and I'm awaiting the good college football games... I'll entertain myself with you.
I only talked about the doctor's on t.v. because it was an easy reference. But, in this case, the people I cited are very well respected in their fields. Please, I beg you to set aside what you learned in the gym for what is it, 27 years? Please get on a computer, use this search engine called Google, or yahoo, or any other and type in 'does fat really cause you to be fat'. PLEASE, I'm beggin' you...
I'm not going to cite my credentials just to debate you, no one on here cares, but believe me, your 27 years of lifting heavy pales in comparison to what I do, and have studied, not watched TV, but actually studied. I work with doctors regularly, both conventionally trained doctors and newer functional doctors. I told you, hit me up, I'll send you my contact info, and fees mind you, because you would be a project that would require me to add additional charges just for pure ignorance. But, I'd still be happy to educate you so that you are netter informed.
Now, yes, excess fat can have consequences, this is TRUE! (See, we agree!) But is fat the root cause of diabetes for most if any, no. Ask your doctor.
Excess sugar, or the lack of being able to use sugar, or disregulation of insulin and insulin receptors is the root of diabetes.
This has been public service announcement hoping to help cyber-bullies and cyber-idiots find why they do what they do.
Pablo just blindly believes the TV and goes from bad fad diet to bad fad diet, which drives everyone in medicine nuts.
The media LIES get this into your heads..the TV LIES to you...the TV wants you as fat as they can get you until you are to fat to move...understand?
The TV then tells you what to buy..what to think...what to do....so they, the people that own the TV can get as much of your money as possible into their bank accounts...and they tell you who to vote for..which makes the people that own the TV more powerful and more wealthy.
Since the 1980 medicine and science has known what a healthy diet is...but people just blindly believe the TV instead of their doctor.
Who are you talking to?
Oh my god, no wonder why everyone is fat and unhealthy in America. First the Framingham study is the study that has followed up 11,500 healthy people since the 1940's right after the war ended because doctors where seeing fat in the aeries of solders that where wounded.
This study took the blood, urine and medical records of each person every year to track the changes in health status up to the time of death. Based on this study is how your doctor gets the numbers for what is healthy and at what level meds are given. all the numbers. which are called cut points, comes for this study including blood pressure, cholesterol levels, AIC levels and so on.
Because Framingham has such a small number of people that have been followed up over the long term, all the cut points are for all sexes and all ages.
The life insurance industry has a data base of 20 million healthy people that they have been following up since 1980's, My wife is part of the team of epidemiologists that have done the science on this population matching them up to the Social Security death master files that research organizations can access.
The life insurance industry has all the cut points by age and sex, right now Obama has kept this knowledge out of your doctors office, as goverment takes over medicine.
My wife is hired by lawyers including the Department of justice because she can accurately calculate someone's life expediency to within a few years.
Her team have published over 120 papers in leading medical journals on this study and the life insurance industry uses this study to accurately predict how long a new applicant is going to live.
You people blindly believe the meida like sheep, its amazing....a high sugar diet blows out your pancreas, which then causes diabetes.
A high fat diet cause heart disease and stroke.
Yet i bet everyone one of you goes to Starbucks and buys a coffee that is more of a milkshake then coffee. You drink energy drinks loaded with sugar, you eat fried foods and full fat meat every night and for lunch as well and then wonder why you are all so sick?
NjNy, will do!
I love the martial arts. I have an uncle who has been training in martial arts since HS. He just turned 60 and is turning his attention to Aikido. Guy is harder that steel but you would never know it. Something like: Calm but alert, Relaxed but ready, Smooth but sharp, Humble but confident. He also has great sense of humor. My background is wrestling and just love the sport.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Planks are the best and I have picked up a few yoga moves over the years too. The easy ones. :-) As for me, lifting some kind of aerobic activity and you name the sport I'm there. I am never giving up pasta, breads, potatoes, etc.. Not bragging or preaching. I will cut back though so thanks for the reminder and extra information.
VACCINATIONS are must!!!!
Way to lift that weigh!. - 475 squat is not easy.
BLM,
I know my man! Thanks, I'm sure she'll appreciate the compliment.
Lmao... you are now saying what I said in my original post, the problem is sugar.... but I digress.
Clearly, along with lifting heavy, (like no one else does but you) you may also want to try some stress relievers like Yoga, Pilates, and Meditation. You know stress has a lot to do with belly fat too, right? Or is that old science too?
I enjoy talking with "dudes" from the gym who know everything. I'm enlightened and look forward to "learning" more from you and you deep knowledge on health topics... thanks! LOL
Just poking at you. I really do listen to others as well unless there is a HOT pic of the wife. You got that distraction going for you! Spew away and your background is duly noted. There are a lot topics to engage in and hope to see you posting there as well. :-)
BlackLM,
Lol... no. Nothing to sell. I'm not a doctor by far. But I am specially trained in Nutrition and Metabolism.
But, here's where I hope ncal and I can agree... diabetes, strokes, etc. the risks can certainly be reduced with a proper diet, and looking at one.a labs from their doctor a little differently than conventional medicine does at the present.
NJNY, ahhhhhnn, ok. I'm new to the forums! Ok, that makes sense.
After all, that's the purpose of forums right? To be able to discuss issues civilly, even when we disagree.
I love to learn, so if I read something I don't understand, I'm going to ask.
Thanks for the Welcome!
I get the feeling you are about to sell something doc. Not that ncalcouple ever has their facts straight. So you have any other hobbies other than doctoring?
Just looked at three recent studies, though there was some concern about that back in 2012, your theory has been largely found not to be true. Though I don't use Atkins, and didn't bring it up, they found that blood cholesterol levels were not significantly elevated, nor increase in strokes that could be from the diet itself. Get the facts!
And I've seen nothing about Atkins causing thousands of strokes. Never. Give me the research so I can educate myself.
Ncal, 1) damn you get really offend, really easily. 2) I hope and Pray you are not in the medical field, because of you are, then you are part of the problem! Refusal to see that if fat was the cause of so many illnesses, and the vast majority use low fat this, and no fat that, then why are we getting fatter and fatter as a Nation? 70%of Americans are obese, not just overweight, Though we've been telling people to limit fat in their diets for well over 25 years.
DO YOUR RESEARCH!!
Dietary fat is not the root cause of belly fat and heart disease. Ask any Doctor, statins can do way more harm than good.
Contact people like Amy Meyers, M.D, Mark Hyman, M.D. or J.J. Virgin, N.D., and tell them the "crap" you just spouted.
I'm in the field, I don't get my information from t,v., just used that as an example because its easier to begin to educate your self in the comfort of your home on a Sunday morning.
The internet is sometimes no better, just looks at the misinformed remarks you made!
If you want to get some real facts, email me. I can gladly provide you with studies which back up my claims.
Sugar is the enemy, not fat. When you eat fat, it does NOT, I repeat... does NOT, automatically cause belly fat. Fat should be where your body gets its energy. By cutting out as much fat as we have, we've then relied on carbs (sugar) and protein. What happens when you eat sweets? You crave more reign?
Educate yourself, and if you need I can certainly help.
Thanks
"Eat Fat to Get Thin" Ha! That book has got to be a best read for most. I enjoy fat and fatty foods. I think I eat them in moderation. Thanks for the post Pablodiabo3 and welcome to the forums.
