Also called: Desire Pearl, Desire Riviera Maya

A pair of adults-only, clothing-optional lifestyle resorts in Mexico — Desire Pearl (Riviera Maya) and Desire Riviera Maya (Cancun area). Desire is widely considered the most newcomer-friendly major lifestyle resort, with structured social programming and clear etiquette messaging.

Desire operates two flagship properties in Mexico's Riviera Maya: Desire Riviera Maya Pearl Resort in Puerto Morelos and Desire Riviera Maya Resort, which is the older sister property nearby. Both are couples-only, all-inclusive, and clothing-optional in pool and beach areas, with clothing required in restaurants and other public spaces (Desire Experience, Desire Pearl). The Pearl property is positioned as the more upscale of the two, with a slightly higher price point, smaller capacity, and the dedicated Desire Mansion wing of premium suites.

What distinguishes Desire from a generic adults-only resort is the structured social programming. Theme nights, daytime activities, and play spaces are all built around the lifestyle calendar, and the staff is trained to keep the etiquette boundaries that make the format work. Within the lifestyle community, Desire is widely characterized as the most newcomer-friendly of the major dedicated properties: the dress codes are clearly published, the rules around photography and approach are enforced, and a couple can attend without being pushed past their comfort level.

The two properties book year-round to a mix of independent couples and full-resort takeovers run by lifestyle event companies. Takeovers concentrate a particular community or theme onto the property for a week, with their own programming layered on top of the standard Desire schedule. Independent visits and takeover weeks have noticeably different energies, and lifestyle veterans often recommend that first-timers do at least one independent stay before booking a takeover, so that the format itself is familiar before the social density turns up.
