.....And that likely explains why it happens more often as you get closer to the weekend with everyone looking to make plans, contact others, etc. Exactly the time frame you need the site the most, it gets overloaded so you can't access it.
Most times it's because the server(s) is/are overloaded. However, if there are performance issues on the server it can happen as well. So - more server, better code, or blue pills may all help.
