The Wall

I just looked...

Your most recent post on the Wall might get better results if you post it in the Hot Date section.

I have posted on the wall and received comments but I see who commented or what they commented. Help

Well, the Wall is back. When I posted previously in here My Wall was completely blank.

In all the times I've looked at the Wall, I've only seen 1 post by a profile within 50 miles from us. I think the post was a Hot Date kinda post.

Some posts in there would be better suited for a Forum thread, some are better suited for Hot Dates, some are rants some are blank.

It's all just graffiti.

LOL we look at profiles daily but no one knows.. why you ask.. we turn it OFF!

All sort of reasons..

Three people who are hundreds/thousands of miles away from each other are reporting that they're receiving the same two posts from the same profile hundreds/thousands of miles away. I'm pretty sure that that's by design, and not an accident. Plus, I'll just bet that if we were to compare wall posts we'd find that most if not all of the random posts are the same, from the same accounts, in the same order.

I hesitate to put the profile name up, because I'm reasonably sure that they have no idea that their wall posts are being blasted nationwide. Incidentally, the Michigan folks looked at my profile after I looked at theirs so I think they're probably legit. So don't slag them.

Yes, I see that on my own wall. The distance filtering isn't working for public posts. These public posts were turned off when using a web browser, but they did not get turned off on the mobile app.

"The Wall should not show you any posts further than 50 miles away from you, unless it is a post by someone on your Friends list."

We're officially reporting that is not the case today.

As long as it's in a decent-sized vehicle, meaning big enough for some on-the-road hanky-panky.

It might save gas money on the long trip, but the thought of getting frisky in the back seat of a Prius makes my old bones ache just thinking about it. ;)

We have the same posts on our wall.

Maybe we can drive to Lansing together to save on gas money.

irishrose, is that person in a Lansing MI suburb, from earlier today? Because I got the same two posts on my wall. Obviously, if your friends have no wall posts, then the same roster of posts gets tossed up on everyone's wall, regardless of location. At least if it was set up to do the random posts from up to say, 200 miles away, that would possibly be useful.

If the excuse is "well, maybe you might be enticed to plan a trip to their location", I rather doubt that I could be enticed to Lansing, absent a fistful of Benjamins. To be fair, I've never been, have no idea if it's a nice city or not, but I've never heard of anyone gushing about their vacation in Lansing.

I just went and looked at it...seems like just a bunch of random posts from people I have never seen before.

My favorite one was from a profile that asked if this thing works, and then 2 minutes later posted that they felt like they were talking to a wall.

LOL You use the Wall? Yeah, changed.

Visible to Public posts "coming soon". Until then, only "friends" can see posts other friends have made. You must be friends with yourself.

If Wall "soon" is Mickey "soon", you'll never see anything but yours or your friends' posts.

Is “The Wall” feature gone or down for now? I’m no longer seeing posts there other than our own.

I should have said I don't think the admin continually monitors it- as in every minute.

Yeah, I reported a few that "cryptically" contained contact info and they were still up for a whole day.

Some looked like "professionals", some looked like scammers/blackmailers.

I think it's funny that the professionals/scammers/blackmailers can't right english moar gooder.

The wall posts are reviewed like the Hot Dates. They go live immediately and also go into a list for staff members to review. We try to review those within 24 hours or less, but something may show temporarily until we remove it.

For the report feature, 3 unique profiles have to report the same post for it to be marked for review.

It's been kinda slow in The Forum, so I 've been looking at The Wall lately. (Short time looker, never participant.)

Unlike the Forum and messaging, Free Members can post on The Wall. I don't believe the site administration monitors The Wall as some posts, especially those from Free Members, contain contact information.

Similar to the Forum, there's a "Report" button for specific posts, but you can also "Like" a post on The Wall.

I've never looked before, so I just did.

I never heard of anyone who is on "My" wall and the closest to us is 746 miles away. "Ever had your nuts licked so good you start squirming" got my attention- until I saw it was a SM.

My wall needs a couple coats of paint.

It's possible someone somewhere understands the wall - it was an 'exciting new feature' a couple of years ago that never took off - but they haven't announced themselves anywhere on the forums.

Last time I looked, so sometime last year, it contained one message from someone on my friends list (no, that's not an important feature either), and now mine has today's messages from people I will never meet. I'm guessing yours is the same.

Williamsville, NY, Us

Ok, maybe I missed something but I don't understand 'my wall'. The messages that are there are not from people we know and they are not even local. They are hundreds of miles away. What is the purpose of it? Thank you!
