This issue STILL exists. Just now we got a message from what appeared as a couple (couples Gumby image), but when clicked on the profile it opened to a single male.
Single males showing as couples
Those few bloaks, who are trying to kid others are just ruining there, albeit, minimal potential for success. Being real, honest, regardless of situation is always best!
"...We deal with it the best we can is all..."
I don't make any assumptions that anything will work as advertised - and I'm rarely disappointed. Thank goodness I have extensive experience using poorly written and out-of-date software that often fails with operating system updates. ;-)
At least this is just a fun past time and not a matter of life or death.
Yes, it happens often to us also ... the yell & green gumbies show up on a new message, only to discover when clicking on it, that it is really a single guy profile.
Phoebert, truth is I highly, highly doubt they have anyone actively working on the website or app. The app hasn’t had a noticeable update in about two years. It’s also a completely different user experience than the browser version. If they are paying a dev team to fix the issues and update the site then they should IMMEDIATELY fire them and hire competent coders that can actually address the multitude of issues plaguing the site. We deal with it the best we can is all.
"...There is no pattern we’ve noticed..."
That does make it harder to diagnose and fix the problem - if fixing problems was a higher priority than new and improved features and the app. ;-)
Phoebert, it happens constantly to us. We think a couple is writing and click to view the profile only to find it’s a single. There is no pattern we’ve noticed. It’s like most everything on this site though. No consistency, rhyme, or reason. It just is and we have to deal with it. It’s been going on at least a year that I recall, but in relation to the plethora of other issues it’s relatively minor.
"...the SLS glitch that puts the couples Gumby's into the IM message and when they click to view the profile it opens to a single guy..."
I'm not sure that's ever happened to us with an initial message from a single guy but it happens often during a conversation.
Has anyone ever noticed a pattern or under what circumstances it happens?
@ ItalianGinger, Thank you for explaining exactly what I was trying to say :-)
I think what the OP is referring to is NOT the fakes or single guys posing as couples, but the SLS glitch that puts the couples Gumby's into the IM message and when they click to view the profile it opens to a single guy. That's an SLS issue, but, we can certainly concur from experience that there are plenty of BS profiles, fakes & flakes as mentioned in this thread as well.
Ringo, I think you painted a good representation. Your listed as a SM and have a story to tell. It's the ones claiming to be widowed but still have a couples profile that set off flags for me. Good luck.
Ringo so for 'us" as stated honesty is best policy always with anything..and YES we do vet all and be sure what all tell us is true.. why its because
we have been burned way to many times on.... SLS and its easy for "us" as its what we do for a living !
We like classy, sensual and fun photos .. it shows one is creative, fun, not boring, and can laugh at ones self.. thats why we have so many showing all sorts of things!
The day and age of internet and web sites say volumes.. tax roles, clerk of courts, paid web sites we have access to, etc etc.. like we said we had 3 last year all married , cheating and liars.. sad because they were nice guys on a first meet.
Ringo21 - you've handled your status as a widower quite well in your profile.
Hi OutdoorGal and RnK - I'm looking for an opinion. I'm a single guy and I'm widowed. My late wife and I were swingers, and now I'm solo. I mention that in my profile. My thinking is that it shows my experience in the lifestyle, and points out that I'm not just another loser whose wife dumped him because he's a jackass. Is there a better way to approach it, or should I just drop it from my profile and explain the situation once I start chatting with someone? Thoughts?
RonKathy, true that about speaking volumes. I woke to 5 msg's in which three claim to have started out as a couple but the wife passed. In reading the profiles, the msg, some things just did not seem to line up. I've met some really nice men here, others a flakes who don't show or when you meet them for the first time it's "OH HELL NO".
It speaks volumes.. they are placing the bait out and see who takes it.. Everyone is on a swing site lets be honest about who and what we do and looking for .. Problem with SLS is at least 50% of people, couples and singles BS many here!
For "us" we move on quickly and block them.
Love VENICE and the pier... great area
I was wondering why when I get msg's in my in box that have the dual Gumby figures that when I open them they are single males? Any insight?
