Photo Approval Clarification

Danville, PA

Thanks for responding Wayne. I gotta ask....why does SLS insist on having a mobile app listed in Google and Apple app stores? The very nature of this site and what it's about goes in stark contrast to app store policies, understandably so. In order to for SLS to comply, the app needs to be so watered down that it really isn't giving members the experience they're looking for. The site and app don't seem to talk to each other very well, either. I know for a fact that group invites don't reach members who use the app. The only way for them to see/respond to a group invite is to log into via the web. Not sure if that's because of compliance concerns with Google and Apple, or if it's just poor design. Either way, people using the app aren't getting the "full" SLS experience/service and it doesn't really make sense why SLS would invest in that type of app.

Has anyone at SLS ever considered developing an app that can be sideloaded? SLS could link to the .apk file right from their home page (I would not list it on the public facing log in/create an account page, but put it on the tool bar that's on the left side of the page). No need for Google or Apple approval. No need to comply with their rules and make a G rated swinger app...which is the king of oxymorons.

See Wayne the problem is Apple and Google controlling an adult swing site.. yes I get it and why you have to play by their rules.. but crazy... control kids not grown adults!

<p>Your ratings are compared to other members that rate the same picture and the majority "win" and the other ratings get counted wrong. Your accuracy rating would probably not be updated immediately, as it takes time for multiple members to see and rate the same picture, so if you see your accuracy go down, it was probably because of a picture you rated in the past and not the one you just rated.</p>

<p>Unfortunately, this is not something that can be easily defined with just words. When we hire someone to process pictures, it can potentially take weeks or months for them to get good at it. In the words of supreme court justice Potter Stewart (regarding an obscenity case), "I know it when I see it."</p>

<p>As a general guideline:</p>

<p>"Child Safe" should be completely 'G' rated.</p>

<p>"Not Child Safe" would be 'PG' and 'R' rated pictures.</p>

<p>"Explicit" would be 'X' rated.</p>

<p>For the kissing example, it would be if you see open mouth or tongue (French kissing).</p>

<p>A bikini would depend on context. If you are by a pool or beach or lake, it could be Child Safe. If you are in a bedroom or bathroom I would rate it not child safe.</p>

<p>Lingerie would always be not child safe.</p>

<p>We have these rules in place to comply with laws and the policies of Apple and Google. </p>

This seems to have all changed once they went to the app... with all these absurd restrictions on a swing site we no longer help out with picture / profile reviews.. its just crazy on a swing site and makes no sense!

Could we get some clarification on the guidelines for approving photos?

Use "NOT CHILD SAFE" button for:

Nudity - Define nudity. Shirtless? Full body? Side butt? Are the standards of nudity different for males and females?

Excessive kissing - I don't even know what this means. What is "excessive kissing" in a still-shot photo? Do we need to see drool?

Excessive cleavage - Define excessive. A low cut shirt? A bikini? Lingerie?

All 3 of those are pretty vague and leave a lot of room for interpretation.
---------------------

Use "BAD PHOTO" button for:

Sideways or upside down pictures
Screenshots (pictures of a captured device screen)

We have selected these options multiple times when applicable and we notice our accuracy rate drop immediately after. Every. Single. Time.
---------------------

Use "I AM UNSURE" button for:

If you are not sure, use to skip the picture and not rate it.
---------------------

We have selected this option quite a few times, and have also noticed our accuracy rate drop immediately after, which doesn't make any sense at all. Would love to see these guidelines clarified during the review process.
