Interesting, that has not been our experience the last time our account expired and we waited to renew. I had barely anyone contact us, and when I rechecked the profile, we did not have a profile picture and I had to reset it. YMMV I guess.

<p>Free profiles can have default pictures. Dropping to free status should not change the default picture.</p>
Just don't forget to reset your profile pic, otherwise it stays the default 'no profile' pic free members have.
<p>You will need to wait until your current membership expires and your profile drops to free status and then you will see the payment options on the My Account page and can make a new payment.</p>
