Messages

Many times if I'm taking a quick break from something I'll log on and if the home page does not indicate any new messages then I immediately log off. Then hours later I'll log on, still no indication on the home page of new messages but I'll have time to poke around the forums - and the minute I get to the main forum page I'll have a new message indicator. It wouldn't be so annoying if the SLS date/time stamp didn't indicate that the message had been sent prior to that short break hours ago when I logged back out because the home page didn't show any messages.

Rarely are my messages here time sensitive - if I've gotten to the point where a meeting is imminent then we've usually switched to other methods of communication. But it's just one of the many reasons why I offer alternative contact methods soon after deciding I'd like to exchange messages/arrange a meeting.

Regardless of semantics, the notifications of existing messages is not instant like it should be. Sometimes, I log in, no messages but the moment I hit the message button, something appears. SLS should test message delay.

Messages aren't "delivered". They are stored internally on the site in a database. They each have the ID of the profile that wrote it and the profile it was written to. So there is no transfer, it's instantly stored. Why are you thinking there was a delay? Did the other person tell you they sent it at 9:30 last night?

Yes, the message delivery is lagging hours for some reason. Its even slower than emails now. Another feature of the stellar SLS messaging system.

We are having couples tell us they sent messages and we arent getting them sometimes for hours, or couples telling us they tried 3-4 times to send message and they would never go thru at all...anyone else experiencing this?

Had a couple send a message at 930 last night,, we got it at 630 this am??
