Message system generating an automated FRIEND request now with each message

Additionally, the system now says (incorrectly) at the beginning of each and every new message:

"You sent __________ a friend request!

(Automated Message Sent From Mobile App)?? You sent ____________ a friend request!"

Does anyone know a workaround for this? I never send friend requests and do not want it to appear that I have (sends wrong message)
I am also NOT using the mobile system when messaging.
