Thanks for the update/clarification Wayne. Most were under the impression with the new homepage and logo a fresh site was on deck.

Since the messaging system is often used for real time chatting a notification in the browser tab for messages would make sense. The other types of new content are not quite as time sensitive. If I remember correctly the message alert used to include the most horrible sound that would get your attention even if you were in a different tab - I had to mute sound on my laptop to stop people from asking what that was!
Many of the single gentlemen that contact us do not send messages unless they think I'm logged in to SLS. I will often check messages, check the forums and then go do something else in a different browser tab and check back every ten minutes or so. Some nights I get caught up researching something and forget to check SLS for hours.
why cannot I respond to messages. It just goes back to the original message page. Been trying all day. On 3 different devices1

@Hartwell, maybe with the forthcoming rebrand that can be added. I'd hold off until then. It makes no sense to devote dev team resources to adding features to the defunct site.
Hi Wayne, thanks for replying... I actually mean some indicator in the browser tab itself.
For example, if I have several tabs open, I can see that there are new emails on the tab for that page... even if I'm not currently in it.

<p>That feature is working now. You will see the "Flying Bird" graphic next to your "Messages" tab when you have unread mail and there will also be a number in a red circle to indicate how many unread messages you have.</p>
I wonder if there is a way you have the browser tab show an indication of new messages?
