Continued MESSAGES problems today

Well, it's Friday Evening. The site should be getting ready to fall apart right about this time. Have a message to send? Better hurry up!!

Same issue Pony. Had to paste a message 5 times today and it didn’t work. Switched over to the app as a backup and it went through there. .

Continued message problems today 9.22.2022 @1:00 pm Cali time. Tired of reentering the reply to people we are sending messages more than 6 times. :(

<p><span style="background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family:tahoma,verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:14px">It isn't spam unless they are sending the EXACT same message to multiple people. </span></p>

Wow. So I get about 200 "spam" messages a month from mostly single guys telling me how much they want to fuck my wife....and all they did was find my profile...probably in the "newest matches" listing which this site advertises my profile on my behalf. I didn't ask for those. And if this is the "policy" for the site, we would all be in flagrant misuse of the messaging app when we reach out to someone who we are attracted to and say "HI...we should meet, etc."

Doesn't really matter much because I did in fact try to respond to several people this morning - who contacted me first - and every time I pressed send the message simply disappeared....

And if it is and I am to use bulk email to them, that isn't the same?"</span></p>

<p><span style="background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family:tahoma,verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:14px">Yes, sending a direct message to them is spamming, as per the rules of the company. The difference with the bulk mail is that it is something they "opted into". They joined your group or signed up for the event that you are sending the bulk mail for. </span></p>

Just a side note DiveBarDiva: : if the attendees are using only the app then you are completely out of luck because there is no way to bulk mail them.

Mesa, AZ, Us

Just so I'm clear on this....If we post and event, and 25 couples indicate they are attending, sending a direct message to all of them with details....is that spamming them? And if it is and I am to use bulk email to them, that isn't the same? I will follow the rules, but just not getting the justification for the difference.

<p>"<span style="background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family:tahoma,verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:14px">Spamming is unsolicited and unwanted." That is correct and if the other person has not asked you a question about an event, it is unsolicitied. And if you send the exact same message multiple times, it is spamming. These are the rules of this company. You must follow the rules. </span></p>

Completely agree. We are not spamming.....we are trying to communicate details because they asked for them when they registered for the event. "Bulk Email", which has been "new" forever now, sometimes takes way to long to get approved. At times, it goes out in a couple of hours. Other times it takes days.

And in response to the cut&paste messages, if I were to hold a personal Hot Date at the California Hotel and ask for couples to join me, if I get 40 couples say they want to be there, would I not cut&paste my response to each of the individually? It takes forever, especially when 20% of them disappear after pushing send, and another 20-30 clicks because the messenger doesn't load from the link, etc.

I'm just saying, if the management would like more groups to hold events, which is what swingers look for in general, the tools need to be capable for those who run the events.

And please don't boot me from the site as punishment. I actually was booted from the site for 48 hours a few years ago for complaining about the way the site ran. And I got booted just before an event we were trying to get info out for. Nothing has changed but I have been more cautious about what I say.

I never got the rational behind claiming that’s spamming. Spamming is unsolicited and unwanted. They want to send out directed messages to people actual attending their event. How is that spamming?? The point here is bulk messages take WAY too long to get approved. We personally have had an event on a Saturday where our update was to go out Friday and the message wasn’t approved and delivered until the following Monday. It’s gotten better now, but there’s still a significant delay in getting them out.

Mesa, AZ, Us

I'm still waiting for a bulk post for an event Friday to go out. Submitted last night.

Mesa, AZ, Us

sls_wayne..... I have done that, and in fact am awaiting another to go out in bulk. However, I have members who ask questions about the event, need further details, etc and can't send anything to them. And frankly, what difference does it make if I want to personally message 2 people or 10 people? What's against policy is to charge customers for an app that doesnt work properly and not provide any reason or resolution for days and weeks.

<p>You are not suposed to be using the mail system for any group/event notifications. That is a violation of site policy. Use the Lists feature on the Tools page or the bulk mail feature. If you are sending private messages that talk about signing up or registering for an event, they are probably being intentionally not sent by the site. </p>

Westmoreland, NY, Us

If you have a group on here, try the Bulk Mail for attendees. That uses the old mail system to send a message to all signed up.

If not, you’ll likely have to make a group text or chat for the event since SLS doesn’t offer that. This way attendees can connect and get any updates or announcements in real time. Unfortunately it’s very hard to rely on the IM here to get any last minute updates out.

Have not been able to send messages all day. And we have an event this weekend which requires sending some instruction. ???????

Westmoreland, NY, Us

Somethings going on. Our entire message history vanished. It seems like our profile is offline, but we still have access. No reason given if it was taken offline either. Have another message into support.

Los Gatos, CA, Us

IG- Yes to confirm yet again "messages" continues to be down today (9-20-2022) Cali time, so tired of repeating communication over and over. We as the customer should be getting our services. What gives SLS?

Westmoreland, NY, Us

The messaging is down again today. I just pasted a copied message for the fifth time and it simply keeps vanishing as soon as I send it.

Westmoreland, NY, Us

Totally agree Pony! Just pointing out that’s pretty much how it has to be done or you risk losing the message.

Los Gatos, CA, Us

Thats about 4 more steps than I think I should have to take. Totally disrupts a conversation and wastes my time.

Westmoreland, NY, Us

It's a known issue that's been around for about a year now. The following steps are the best way to avoid the issue of the "SLS IM Limbo glitch":

1) Type out your message
2) Copy to clipboard
3) Hit Send (If it goes through you're all set. If not proceed to step 4)
4) Paste message from clipboard and send again (If it goes through you're all set. If not proceed to step 5)
5) Repeat Step 4 until it goes through

Los Gatos, CA, Us

When you press the "airplane" button to send messages it deletes the message to be sent. What gives?
