Green circle in the photo only means they are logged onto the site or have been within the last hour.

I have noticed the message tab green several times and also the green circle by the profile pic.. just wasn’t sure if it was IM or a reg message and if it can be read by others even if their not online. Thank you for clarifying.

The message system here has recently changed, with some improvements, and some features not as good as before. To answer your questions; Yes, the people you message will see what you've written, even if they're not online. As for people who have a green dot, but don't respond, it can be that they don't want to respond. But, just as likely that they don't know you've messaged them. The site USED to have a very loud alarm that went off when someone messaged you. It was kind of obnoxious, and could be be crappy if you didn't want other people in the house to know you were on the SLS site. Now, they've gone the opposite way, and there is NO audio alert. So, if you are not actually looking at the site when the message is sent, you don't realize that you've received one.

My fiancé and I are very new to this site. I have tried messaging a person or too. And I know, there’s a possibility of them not wanting to reply. I get that part.. My question is, if their message tab is not green, do they still get the message and how do I know mine is green?? Help for a newbie :)
