I have been on 1ml of testosterone bi weekly for about 4 years and have never had any-side effects. My t-level was extremely low when I started, about 189 and now is in the mid 800's. I self inject every other week in my thigh with a I use a 22.ga. x 1.5" needle and most time I don't even feel the needle. I pay $79 self pay for 12 weeks supply
Testosterone replacement therapy
Not painful at all. I use a half inch needle at give it in a butt cheek
Are the shots painful or difficult to self administer? I already take Ozempic and that is easy.
The spiking is when you first take a full dose shot your T level rises. As it wears of it will drop way off. If you only take a shot say every 2 weeks you feel great for the first couple of days but then you start feeling sluggish till the next shot. I take 1.75 per week which I split into 2 doses that way I stay level all the time.
Scarlet..
I don't know if spiking your T will have adverse effects on those cancers. But my shot spikes were sometimes between 180s and 1200s.
the swings for me were very oily skin with breakouts, sweats like hot flashes without being hot, sleep issues too much or can't sleep. Not so much mood swings because it is only a week between shots. But with the pellets this is for about 3-4 days then you just feel normal. I know when it starts getting low again because my sleep gets off and I start gaining weight for no reason 1-2 pounds a week and nothing stops that.
What does the spiking do? Mood swings?
Talk to your urologist or a hormone therapy specialist. I did shots for years and hated the up and downs. Now I do the pellet inserts every 4-6 months and the steady slow release is great. They can titrate the dose and pellets to keep you in a mid range, with slow release, to lower the risk that spiking you could do.
I have male friends who say it changed their lives. Get your levels checked and if it would benefit you go for it.
"The side effects are prostate cancer and heart arrack."
I think you're confusing the effects testosterone has on prostate cancer cells and preexisting cardiovascular conditions with testosterone causing them. And even the effects have been called into question by some newer studies.
I've taken a very small dose of testosterone daily for years and while I obviously am not at risk for prostate cancer, I do try to stay up on the research.
I had to go through a couple months of up and down numbers with shots originally.. they had me every 2 weeks but settled down with weekly, numbers now in the steady 500 very happy with those.
Feel great and always up for some great sex!
But we also incorporate all we mentioned and in fact just came back from gym and a 1.5 hour workout, sauna and massage !
We have male friends who do pellets because they travel a lot, some use creams and shots all have seen improvement in there life!
I use Axiron daily, one dab on each armpit. Shots didn't work for me (rollercoaster effect).
By the way if a DR tried to first put you on any other RX like Clomid to boost your naturally.. PM me and I will tell you what happened and it wasnt good!
Dangerous drug!
Yes.. been on shots well over 12 years...For 10 years went in every 6 months blood workup.. now only yearly!
Never.. ever an issue. Get a DR who has latest INFO so many do NOT want to do it or have a clue.. wife gives me shots weekly and they have made a huge difference.. now add we also workout everyday, gym, free weights, classes, sports tennis and pickleball and "try" and watch what we eat..
We also take a variety of vitamins, NAC, soursop, pre and probiotics and our blood workups are fantastic..
Most Drs are trained in western medicine and have been brain washed by big Pharma and Old information. Even our yearly heart Drs agree and tried to push lower cholesterol crap.. its a joke you need it to ward off dementias, and Alzheimer.. do your own research and good luck. Get a book the cholesterol CON and you will see what I mean .. filled with facts by our own GVT that were hidden!
I am 70 and wife 67 most our photos are recent and 2 added yesterday by flag on our afternoon date..were just yesterday.. so you tell me!
Our goal is 100!
I have been using T therapy for probably the last 18 yrs. Initially a cream then shots. My Dr, monitors my levels and has no issues with keeping me on the higher end. I take 2 half dose shots a week that I give myself.
Anyone tried it? The side effects are prostate cancer and heart arrack. Not sure my doctor would prescribe it.
