Guys. I have been in the lifestyle for 30 years there is no sure way keeping yourself 100% disease-free. Remember when you use condoms you are kissing giving oral licking maybe drinking a little fluid be it saliva or cum this is a chance that all swingers take. The sure way of being 100% not to be in the lifestyle. I have kidney disease and i do not put my life in Danger basically you are playing Russian roulette.. if you are afraid of the lifestyle should not be in it..
Prep
Swingers absolutely should know about PrEP and have it as an available option.
I don't know why people think it's overkill for straight people. Apparently they are unaware that 1 in every 5 new HIV diagnosis in the US is a heterosexual woman.
And the idea that you are risking Kidney, Liver, and heart problems being on PrEP is nonsense. These issues come up in less than 0.2% of all people taking PrEP, and people on PrEP are monitored for them. Both of the medications used for PrEP are considered safer than Asprin. The few kidney issues that have cropped up have been identified and everything returns to normal once the person switches medication. PrEP is not associated with liver issues, because the medication is not processed through the liver. The only association between PrEP and the liver is that Truvada is also used to treat Hepatitis B, so if someone has HEP B and they decide to stop taking Truvada, it can lead to flare-up of the HEP B. In fact, PrEP could potentially help PROTECT the liver. A study in Japan last year showed that people on PrEP had a lower rate of HEP B infection, which suggests that PrEP may also offer some protection against HEP B. The increase in weight associated with Descovy is less than 2 lbs when it does happen, and the occasional increase in LDL Cholesterol is similarly small. The current draft updates the CDC is working on for PrEP Protocols includes Cholesterol monitoring for those on Descovy, and those patients can be switched to Truvada.
PrEP is safe. It is effective. And it has the potential to end the HIV epidemic. And considering that community STI rates drop when PrEP uptake is high, it also has the potential to dramatically lower STI Rates across the board.
I agree that Prep is overkill for a heterosexual swinger, but I am not confident that condoms are highly effective or even effective against HSV or HPV.
You're willing to screw up your liver, kidneys or heart or catch herpes, warts or hepatitis for the sake of bareback sex?
Lifestyle Ultra Sensitive condoms work nicely.
Do swingers use this? I am a bisexual male and have been on it for three years. If taken daily it is 98% effective against HIV.
Do some research people. It doesn’t protect against other diseases but in my opinion With frequent testing ( you must test every three months to stay on the prep), the pros outweigh the cons.
