He had a record of bipartisan support and cooperation as Texas governor. I realized he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he promised to hire smart people to advise him. Instead, he hired a bunch of yes-men and hawks who just fed his need to get revenge on Saddam Hussein, who I really think he saw as being a thorn in his dad's side, politically.

Bill Clinton was a rare instance of not having to hold my nose while voting. I like pragmatists who are not ideologues who are sure their ideas are best. I met Hillary Clinton once and liked her - she really does have a great laugh - but nose holding took place in that election.

I’m not a Democrat. Yes I am liberal. Yes I vote 9 out of 10 time for a Democrat. But I have no political party affiliation. I never voted for a Democrat for President until Bush Jr’s second term. At this point. I don’t see myself voting for a Republican for President anytime soon.
