I cant believe anyone would even worry about this staged shit. The World is falling apart as we speak and people actually give a fuck about these Scum.

No I won't
"Erotic will argue a point with you even if you're on the same side he is. Lol"
ROFL.
I had to do that to you :)
Erotic will argue a point with you even if you're on the same side he is. Lol
"@EA I’m not disagreeing with you."
Please, disagree with him. This will be fun. ;-)
We could even invite LMK and make a group hug out of it.
EROTIC
But the Academys are voted on by other actors in the academy, (patting each other on the back), whereas the others, I believe, are voted on by a "Neutral" party. Like sports Hall Of Fames are voted on by the Sports Writers.
And yes, there are awards for roofers. Mostly derived from a JD Power type company who contacts customers to answer a survey, after getting the work done. I even get the surveys from my dentist before I get home from the damn appointment.
And yes, I feel like you are picking on me. I think you should bring the Mrs. over to make it up to me :)
@EA
I’m not disagreeing with you. My point is that Hollywood products are ubiquitous. The awards show/ self aggrandizement not so much. Like you, I had no idea it was even on, save for the social media posts (I was lost in a Bridgerton binge). Same for Grammy’s, Emmy’s, Tony’s etc etc. I watch what I like, regardless of awards or promotion. I assume most people do as well.
Ha ha! You?. A jerk? Never to me. (So far XO)
~LMK~
@Love

I am not trying to be a jerk . . . It it really ubiquitous? I am serious here. How many people have watched these shows? As Mickey even pointed out, viewership is way the fuck down. If this slap didn't happen, how much ink would have been spent covering the event? The slap made the event newsworthy to the media who then talked about it.
I am thinking now of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Isn't that the same 'patting each other on the back?' For people in the industry that is the culmination of the year! It is HUGE. I would not even know who the nominees were this year if it were not for Dolly Parton making the news.
In the end, the relevance of this slap is only relevant because we let it become relevant. Again, personally, I don't fucking care. Hell, they don't care about me either :) I am out of there advertisers demographics :)
@EA
True, self-aggrandizement happens in every industry. However, Hollywood’s “products” are a bit more ubiquitous, so it’s more apparent than most. The financial disparities only makes it more obvious.
@DB
"Of course there will be one. There is nothing that Hollywood people like to do more than pat other Hollywood people on the back."
Not trying to pick on you, but that phrase, often stated, makes me laugh my ass off.
I guess all the industries that have awards for their industry is just patronizing themselves.
Damn those sports ones.
Damn those industry specific ones, hell, there probably is one for roofers :)
Does anyone really watch that trash ….When you see some star receive an award and he points to heaven and he says “ Thank you lord and helping me winning this award “ ….Don’ t y’all think god has more important things .
Like a war in Ukraine …but he helps some guy win a worthless award
GOODENUFF
And I know you can’t say exactly when, but I’m sure that before too long, the intel will come out for everyone to see, then they will all see how right you were all along.
My intel, and it's from a very reliable source, indicates that future awards ceremonies will be the Golden Gloves Awards.
Well, Mickey told us all the Hollywood elites will be locked up any day now.
The next Academy Awards show will most likely be broadcast from Guantanamo Bay.
Of course there will be one. There is nothing that Hollywood people like to do more than pat other Hollywood people on the back.
Still was the 2nd worse ratings this fuck show had in its entire history. Not sure there even be one next year.
Mickey
Well the wife has control of our remotes , I don’t watch much TV , she watches the same shows over and over , when I do try to watch TV I get frustrated at the thousands of channels .
I actually put a TV antenna on the roof so I can get local news .
Last time we watched the Grammys was the year when Michael Jackson introduced the moonwalk.
“Grammys are this weekend.“
A few of the guys I work with thought it was the Grammys where this bitch slapping happened , I had say to them “I’m pretty sure it was the Oscars” . I guess they didn’t watch it either .
Lets just say we no longer watch , listen to anyone.. anything who spouses ones political views when you are an actor, musician, sports player.. we are done and better for it! We know many top level executives, sports managers, etc who have wished they did same as they lost 1/2 of the customers when they get involved.. and its been a hard sell to get them back..
All need to stay in their lane as they are ONLY the entertainment ...!
Grammys are this weekend.
Looking forward to a tag team cage match...
Adele and Justin Bieber against Lady Gaga and Lil Nas X... winner take all.
"Who is looking forward to see what happens next year ?"
ROFL!
I think the media will be.
For me . . . I think I have watched 40 minutes total of the Oscars in my whole life. So, meh. :)
“ The biggest benefactor is the show itself.”
I agree with that.
But what is the long term benefit of this to the show? Viewership won’t increase next year waiting to see who’s slapped.
I think this is the silliest thing to be concerned or even paying attention to. Who gives a fuck? Why are we as a society even concerned with what our celebrities do? We should not be getting anything but entertainment out of them. They should not be expected to set examples as to how to live or act. We should not be taking political advice based on who they are. Let them go live their everyday life (that most of the world cannot relate to).
Not staged. The real loser was Will and his ego. Chris Rock was the bigger man by not swinging back.
His little thin-skinned wife who likes to talk a lot of shit, got embarrassed.
She probably asked Will how could he sit there and laugh at the joke. And said something along the lines that a "real man" would defend his woman's name.
Real men can use their words, even argue and curse if they felt so angered. But, real men only resort to violence to combat violence. Chris Rock didn't call her out of her name, no sexual jokes, nor did he slap her head.
Will was as wrong as all out doors. Richard Williams, Kareem, and Jim Carey all gave great, though-provoking responses.
Will would not touch Dave Chappelle, Eddie Murphy, Earthquake, Eddie Griffin, Tracy Morgan, and especially not Kevin Hart. Temporarily insane and stupid are two different things.
Who is looking forward to see what happens next year ?
