Exactly. And those shitty cops need to be taken off the street immediately. Don't let the union put them back
Cops need higher wages
"Something that I think is overlooked by a lot of people is that cops are no different than any other job as far as "experience" goes. The longer they are on the job the better they become at their job."

"Cops are no different. They are gonna make mistakes. They are going to learn as they go.
Just like Carpenters though. Some are just simply gonna suck no matter how long they have been at it."
Deadly?
Like a stair rail that gives because it wasn’t installed correctly?
Your comparing being a carpenter to a cop. Wow how obtuse are you. If I make a mistake. It can be corrected. . change layout or recalculate a stair run Cops make mistakes and it could be deadly
Something that I think is overlooked by a lot of people is that cops are no different than any other job as far as "experience" goes. The longer they are on the job the better they become at their job.
I did 2 years of schooling in the carpentry trade and I can look back and tell you that I didn't really know squat when I got out. (and I graduated with straight A's)
Now after 34 years on the job (self employed the last 20) I can say that I am pretty damn good at what I do.
Cops are no different. They are gonna make mistakes. They are going to learn as they go.
Just like Carpenters though. Some are just simply gonna suck no matter how long they have been at it.
Flip, The low life complain about the Cops even if they have a fart caught sidewise. It's too easy to complain.
"In my opinion it is the unions for the police that are the biggest problem. How does that jerk off that killed Floyd have 18 or 19. Slaps on the wrist and still have a job? If any of us did that at our job we would lose it."
But remember.... He's still one of those good cops. Wonder what you gotta do to be considered a bad cop?
Now you're seeing what ppl have been saying for decades.
Ordinary ppl can lose a job on an accusation with no facts. Or from a pic from your MySoace or Facebook page 10 yrs ago. Or an affair from years ago. One one joke on Twitter that didn't go as planned. Get caught on video saying stupid shit or threatening someone.... Doxed
Flip, with 165k, you're good in most places unless you have a gang of kids. Life goes on without McMansions and $100k cars.
In my opinion it is the unions for the police that are the biggest problem. How does that jerk off that killed Floyd have 18 or 19. Slaps on the wrist and still have a job? If any of us did that at our job we would lose it
Currently driving so I can't confirm. but the two cops in New York City that I spoke to said they were in the range of about 80 grand a year. I imagine the top dick head cops make a couple hundred but I don't think the majority of the guys on the street or making anywhere near that. Have a very good friend of mine in northern New Jersey who makes about a hundred and sixty-five with overtime. But based on the area that is not a great salary.
"The police are not what is wrong in our country.
Some people should recognize that the police doing their job may be the reason they are even alive."
Yeah... Until they're murdered by said police.
"Cops get paid to look for trouble". Accept it!
“ The have lying partners to corroborate any story, the DA, prosecutors, judges and laws to back them. Also paid expert witnesses, snitches and money to back them.”
This is vs them mentality is disgusting, but not surprising. The police are not what is wrong in our country.
Some people should recognize that the police doing their job may be the reason they are even alive.
TOPIC: Cops_need_higher_wages, NO! That would only lay the ground work for the NEW POLICE FORCE OWEBAMA PROPOSED TO GET HIGHER WAGES. This is the BROWN SHIRTS coming to your home and invade it like they did to Roger Stone. Swat Team of 29 at 5 AM invaded his home.
My God 8. What did all that even mean?
Like I said. Make sure you let everyone know how your wishlist works out for you..
"Yes. It has to be based on the standard of living in a given area, which varies widely in America."
Andrew, do you know 10 places more expensive than NYC? How's that Chief ever going to survive?
It was a lengthy post, but 2Out is an ignorant fucker with the worst internet service.
Maybe he'll shut the fuck up for a few mins?
For example, San Francisco Police Chief William Scott received a compensation package worth $289,205 in 2017, enough to make him the second-highest-paid police chief among the dozens of city payrolls analyzed by the Business Journals. Scott oversees a department with 2,332 officers and 603 civilian employees who collectively fielded some 6,300 violent-crime cases in 2017, according to federal data.
Another top-earning top cop is San Antonio Police Chief William McManus, who received a compensation package worth $285,877 in 2017 — the third-largest pay package among chiefs analyzed. The San Antonio Police Department is roughly the size of San Francisco’s, employing 2,305 officers and 624 civilian employees. In 2017, San Antonio residents reported nearly 11,000 violent crimes.
Nationally, San Francisco and San Antonio ranked seventeenth and ninth, respectively, in violent crimes reported last year.
Scott and McManus both earned more than New York Police Commissioner James O’Neill, who oversees the nation’s largest police force with some 36,000 officers and 15,700 civilian employees. Last year, New York reported more than 46,000 violent crimes, the most among cities in the nation.
O’Neill's total compensation from New York City was $226,366 in 2017 — about 20 percent less than his peers in San Francisco and San Antonio. New York's top cop was out-compensated by at least 10 other police chiefs nationally, according to the payroll sample analyzed by the Business Journals.
The top-paid police officer in the country last year was Los Angeles Chief Charles Beck, whose received $349,565 in total compensation for overseeing a total force of 10,000 officers and more than 2,800 civilian employees. FBI data show that there were roughly 30,000 violent crimes in L.A. last year, ranking it second among major U.S. cities. Beck retired in June and was succeeded by Chief Michael Moore.
TOP OF THE LADDER
It’s not just big city police chiefs who earn less than their counterparts in smaller cities, and many of the best-paid fire chiefs hail from California and other areas prone to the sort of wildfires that have challenged emergency workers for months.
Los Angeles Fire Chief Ralph Terrazas’ compensation package of $317,000 was the largest in the country last year, although the city's population of roughly 4 million people ranks second behind New York (8.6 million). Not far behind him were San Francisco’s Joanne Hayes-White ($314,062, city population of 881,000), who ranked second nationally in total compensation; San Jose’s Robert Sapien ($230,505, population of 1.04 million), who ranked fifth; and Sacramento’s Gary Loesch ($214,000, population of 500,000), who ranked ninth.
Ranked eighth nationally, New York Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro's annual compensation also was outranked by the likes of San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood ($280,895); and District of Columbia Fire Chief Gregory Dean ($230,920).
2out,
You're an ignorant bitch that can't read very well. Probably can't fight to save your life. You thought they stopped making guns after you bought yours?
Did a little research. Never once saw any reference to 200k a year.
I've got a great idea. Let's disband and defund.
You're gonna let us know how it works out right?
Some cops may need higher wages. Most cops need lower wages. Wait . . . wtf does that mean?
Look at what the pay really is. Why is it that a lot of cops in NYC are making upwards of 200k+ a year. The answer is simple. FUCK TONS of overtime.
Look at your locality. There are a lot of cops that are collecting serious fucking overtime.
Now think this through.
Do you think that perhaps they are OVERWORKED, overstressed, and have NO work/life balance?
That in itself is also a way to pseudo-train them.
But a question to ask yourself, why would you give them a higher wage? Are you getting better applicants? Are you able to weed out those with GED's and an IQ of 81? Throwing money at wages is not necessarily the best solution to the problem.
I have stated in other threads what I would like to see.
I want police to not think they are warriors.
I want police to not think they are military.
I don't want police to be glorified weekend warriors.
I want cops trained in how to diffuse moreso than how to kill.
All you red state folks will need to fork up a great deal more to your state by way of taxes if you hope to increase pay and training for your police force.
I hope it happens, along with mandatory body cams with penalties for turning them off or convenient malfunctioning.
@2outdoorlovers. LOL
Someday even the idiots will figure something out.
All these overpaid, reckless, racist cops, are the ONLY THING standing between them and the uneducated, redneck, hillbillies holding a 12 gauge.
If it wasn't for the cops that the idiots were so adamantly protesting...
The protests and riots would have ended within hours.
8inck,
Yes. It has to be based on the standard of living in a given area, which varies widely in America.
