"Stop getting your news from the SLS forums!"

Well, fuck. How else am I supposed to know North Korea's nuclear powered ballistic missile submarine fleet has just launched their entire complement of hypersonic SuperCovid carrying flying monkey missiles at the US?

MSM will never tell us that shit.

My favorite was the widely quoted twitter post from an "Atmospheric scientist and meteorologist" excitedly describing the "Gravity waves" that were readily "visible propagating" on satellite photos.

Presumably Mr. science was describing "shock waves"

Well, I got better information, realized I had vastly overstated the situation, and revised what I said.

I guess I could do what most people do when better information comes along. Ignore it and insist I was right the first time for 300 posts.

I read the first post and my immediate thought was that I hadn't gotten an alert on my phone. And then I did what I used to think was automatic for people, which was check other sources.

I'm glad to know that Tonga is fine, most places that are under tsunami alert are experiencing what looks more like a storm surge if they're getting any extra water, and am disappointed that the volcano that blew was declared inactive on January 11.

<p>Wayne: "Tonga was just wiped off the face of the Earth by a volcano!"</p>

<p>wife: "What are you talking about? CNBC says there is no reported damage or casualties. Where did you see that?"</p>

<p>Wayne: "Some post in the SLS forums."</p>

I was likely being overdramatic in that post. It seems some people are OK there. For now, anyway.

We dont have a news thread anymore, so, here.

An underwater volcano in Tonga exploded with such force that the explosion was easily captured in satellite footage. The country's capital was well inside the 150 mile blast radius and there has been no answer from the Tonga government for 11 hours. It's hard to believe that there is anyone alive there at all.

The explosion blast was so loud people heard it in New Zealand 1,200 miles away and it threw a 12 mile high ash cloud into the sky.

Past events like this have resulted in global climate disruption and crop failures over the following months. If we begin to see brilliant sunsets starting in a few days, get ready for it.

Whoo boy 2022 is off to a great start.
