I miss the bird too. Now it just means SLS is using the functionality they said they removed to send marketing emails. I call it the Liar Bird, because the email system isn't really gone, they just removed our access to push us to the IM system they use today.

VA, I also liked being able to receive an email notification to my non-SLS email acct when I received SLS mail.

Once upon a time, this site had email functionality. When you got an email, a little graphic of a bird with a letter would show up. It still does when the site sends you emails.

It was one of the most charming things about the site, which in their infinite wisdom removed that function.
