SLS messages and viewed me

Or sometimes people with fat thumbs like myself will inadvertently click on a profile pic. It will showed up as viewed even though I never went through the profile.

You may be getting views from far away profiles because you are posting in the forums - people are often curious about someone voicing their opinion.

Newest Matches and Random Matches on your home page are profiles that meet your preferences within 50 miles of you (even if you don't meet their preferences). Who Viewed Me is just that - everyone that views you will show as long as they haven't disabled it on their end (although you have to click View More to see anyone with a gumby profile picture).

Dragon, That happens to everyone, it is the world wide web, I too get views from all over the country, appears most members on SLS are from the East part of the US however...very few in the SW/NW and mountain states....Mary Jo

to all the group. I don't understand the reason and maybe someone here can explain the reasoning. On the 'viewed me' I get a picture of someone who is 700, 800, 1250 miles away. Is this for real or is this something that SLS is doing? Why? They never make contact with me in anyway so what's the point? Sometimes I get 4 or 5 of these at a time. Can anyone explain this waste of time? I'm not getting it.

Honestly this whole site experience is pretty dated and unnecessarily cumbersome(except for the forums). An overhaul from the ground up would be nice.

Don’t forget the chat app hasn’t worked on an iPad ever but they keep promising it will soon. They use outdated coding technology.

SLS is indeed the Yugo of sites when it comes to quirkiness. From time to time you also need to engage the Flintstone drive to carry it over the next hill. It seems like most of the issues come from trying to marry an old site to an app.

If a member turns off the Who Viewed Me function, it also renders their views invisible to others.

As for the messages? Yeah, it works about as well as a Soviet-era Lada car. ;)

Still not convinced that the SLS message system and "who viewed me" has good fidelity. People message and say things that imply they viewed the profile, but they don't show up in "viewed me." And outgoing and incoming messages seem sporadic, even for friends who usually reply quickly.
