After some reaseach I think you need a male stripper. Pass on the ones in turn out gear or cops uniform, get one wearing a tool belt. They know how to swing their tool, just make sure their "up" for the job.
Remodeling advice
@2muchfun-you are so right!
GGMM-you sound perfect for the job!
Right? Besides, she a little busy with kids and a wife. ;-)
I might be a better bet, even though I've never been a stripper. I mean, I dance, take my clothes off readily, and remodeled a house built in 1919, so I know my way around wood.
Not to talk bad about GGMM's sister but you don't want an inactive stripper...
An active stripper has more of an effect on the wood.
Haha! Love this! I was in need of of some punny humor. Please don't stop!!
GGMM-is your sister available? :)
She must be multi-pungasmic.
BT
Hey, my little sister is totally eco-friendly. Maybe it's different for inactive strippers?
Gentlemen, the lady's clearly not done with your, er, advice. You've got some work to do.
It’s all about the agitator. ...which is a lot like The Shocker... and never underestimate the power of a good spin cycle.
BT
"The Maytag Repairman of SMs..."
Yeah, yeah. And I suppose you have a special tool to fix her rinse cycle, hmmmm?
@2much fun-love it!
@BT & Sorillo-don't go away yet, we're just getting started.
Dude... She’s feeling quite satisfied... our work here is done.
BT
The Maytag Repairman of SMs...
Most of the strippers we know are not eco-friendly.
They all drive big SUV's and none of them recycle.
Predictable? Me?
contemplates vanilla love life
Of course not....
Ha! You don't think so? I figured you two would comment. I like both of y'alls humor so I'm feeling quite satisfied right now. Thank you! :)
Sorillo, do you ever worry that we’re becoming too predictable?
BT
Yeah, me neither...
Yeah, BT's right. You never want a stripper who will harm the wood. So make sure she has a good sense of balance while lapdancing.
Lol! This is actually how I imagined (and hoped for) this thread going. He cracked me up when he said it!
...lake house...lake...water...wet...stripper...wood... Danger Will Robinson! Circuits overloading! (Cue dramatic Lost In Space music).
BT
Finding a good stripper should be fairly easy, although cleaning up the glitter probably won't be eco-friendly. ;)
Dammit GFMM! You beat me to the punchline!
You never want a stripper who’s gonna harm the wood. ...eco-friendly or otherwise. That should be rule #1.
Now, that said, there are a number of eco-friendly “orange” strippers (cue the Trump in Russia jokes) that are on the market and available at the big boxes. Most work slower (multiple applications required) than the caustic stuff, but it’s nice not having your skin peel off due to incidental contact. I took down the varnish on 3/4” t&g knotty pine paneling recently, but used the heavy duty stuff, with windows open and a portable blower/fan...and evening length rubber gloves...with my kids away for a few days. I’m trying to decide if I want to leave the walls natural, or do some type of white translucent pickling to make them look a little like birch.
Let us know what you decide and how it comes out.
BT
I can't wait to see what BT comes up with for this one. ;-)
If you actually want good advice, go to your local paint store. There are a number of reasonably safe gel strippers, but there's no way of telling what's available in your region. Or you can just sand.
My husband and I were discussing the renovations of our recently purchased lakehouse tonight. He mentioned finding an eco-friendly stripper that won't harm the wood. Any idea where to find that? ;)
