Fun Fact: the famous 1980 movie Airplane! is actually a parody of a specific movie, the 1957 film Zero Hour! It is almost exactly the same plot (the cities are different) and even many characters have the same name, such as Ted Stryker, and much of the dialogue is copied almost verbatim.

Fun Fact: Gary Numan is 13 days older than Gary Oldman.

This seems counter intuitive.

Fun Fact: there is still one locale in the United States where mail is carried out by mule - Supai, Arizona.

The village (pop. 208, 2010) is only reachable by foot, mule or helicopter. It is 8 miles from the nearest motorable road. There are no cars in the community.

As we all know, all aircraft were grounded the morning of September 11, 2001. The time of the order to ground all aircraft over the US and reroute international flights, mostly to airports in Canada, came at 9:45 am EST. The unprecedented order came from Federal Aviation Administration National Operations Manager Ben Sliney.

The Fun Fact: he had been on the job less than 2 hours. It was his first day in his position.

It’s National Tape Measure Day.

Received our first new ‘message’ and it was pretty well similar to the old way.

Mayhem: viola! now under the "replied" tab I can reply to emails that I previously replied to.

@DNLB - Just right of the Messages button at the top of the page I haved an Archived Mail button. Do you not have that?

In my case I have a # of emails that I can click on and send a reply to. I cannot otherwise email anyone else.

"If you can find them in your Archived Mail you can still email them"

The email function seems to be completely gone on our viewfinder, but if someone emails us we can reply. How bizarre is that?

Windermere, FL, Us

No the messages are not in my archived mail. I can only see them by looking as the history section if their profile.

And yes I know I can reply to old messages, but so what - I have only 13 in there (one more has come in since I wrote that post). All the rest have been scrubbed.

If you can find them in your Archived Mail you can still email them. As mentioned elsewhere though, if you already know them and are just setting up plans then that is one thing Message is actually OK for.

What else is interesting is that for some profiles, I can click on them and see the yellow mailbox, and when I click on that I see our email history. Yet when I look in our email, the sent/received is nowhere to be found.

I.e. yeah the email is not actually deleted, just our access to it.

Windermere, FL, Us

Well the fact that we see some sent emails restored from as far back as April 2017 confirms what we suspected all along, that nothing is ever actually deleted, but is simply made inaccessible.

These pre-FOSTA emails were not there before, and lo and behold they are back.

Where I live, there's another site, which will remain nameless here, that changed NOTHING after the FOSTA law. Business as usual with no problems from the government. Clubs still post their door fee, house parties post their suggested donation, and you can post things in their "hot date" section without having to be reviewed by staff. SLS used that law to go full douchebag on their members for no fucking reason at all. They should fire their lawyer. I don't blame the law. I LIKE THE LAW! It was intended to target human trafficking, and that's all it does.

This other site is very popular in Indiana, North Kentucky, East Illinois, South Michigan, growing in popularity throughout Ohio, and into West Pennsylvania. Also Florida. Tons of Florida members. I imagine the shit SLS is doing is fueling the popularity increase for that other site.

You aren't the only one. There are a few from 2018 in Sent, but mostly it's just the last few months. In Replied, it's just a couple of months worth of emails.

Windermere, FL, Us

Glad to see I'm not the only one. Dunno if SLS is scrubbing certain members or what.

But yeah I have 26 emails in my "Sent", and most of them are pre-FOSTA la VISTA (early 2018 and 2017).

Completely awesome. What the fuck are these idiots doing? Does SLS honestly think that nobody will notice or care? Or do they think people have no alternatives?

In some parts of the country, SLS has a monopoly. Not so with Florida.

Check this out. All of 2018's emails are gone, about 1/2 to 3/4 of 2019's are toast, but I've got one from mid-2017 that's still showing. Totally random.

We still have hundreds of replied, opened and sent emails so that hasn't happened to us yet.

Emphasis on the yet.

"Fun" fact:

We now have just 17 "archived" messages. 1 "Opened", 12 "Replied", and 4 "Saved".

Check yours. Has most of your mail history been wiped out?

Fun (and depressing) fact:

Gwyneth Paltrow's "Goop" brand - based almost entirely on bullshit and gullible customers with too much money - is now worth $250 million.

Fun Fact: the pilot for Gilligan's Island was filmed in 1963 but not aired. It didn't see the light of day until 1992. It depicts the Minnow and her crew being chartered and headed out to sea from Hawaii. The cast for the Professor and Ginger were different. Instead of Maryann another airhead starlet "Bunny" went aboard.

All flags in port were at half mast, because it was shot in the days immediately after the JFK assassination.

Fun Fact: When my parents were children in the 1950s, they dreamed that by the year 2000 we would be living in cities in the clouds, driving flying cars, etc.

It's 2019. We have to tell people not to eat laundry detergent.

Fun fact: between 1850 and 1956, the Empire Mine in California produced 5.8 million ounces of gold. It was one of the most productive gold mines in history.

If it were formed into a single cube, this gold would be a block just 7'4"" in size, although it would weigh 220 metric tons.
