I have been in business all my life ,until one year ago.I ran a very successful small business that was very viable with 8-10 employees. I was able to sell it.

Backpages got shut down for no reason other than they knew they were posting ads for prostitution. It was one of the few ads they charged for. They made sure that keywords that would trigger scrutiny could not be used. Craig’s List immediately took down that section, because they knew as well what was going on in there. Most lifestyle clubs charge a membership and would probably fall into the ‘’social club” area. Charging a cover Could not be constituted as nothing else than just that— a cover.
Where this gets murky is when people putting on events ask for donations to cover expenses for parties or events. The argument could be made that it’s a ‘payment’.
The whole problem with FOSTA is that it was good intentions gone bad and no one (I believe) gave very good thought to the legal language. The DoJ has admitted that it’s unconstitutional and this will most definitely reach the Supreme Court and the Act will be most likely thrown out and have to have more specific language in it if it’s to pass.

Lifestyle sites like SLS could eliminate Hot Dates and have requirements that ads for parties can’t include pricing and they should be ok for now. Even Federal lawyers would know the difference between swinging and prostitution this would be a waste of their time.
