I THINK (and I've been warned about that before) that the site just deleted all threads inactive for 30 days instead of going through them and deleting any posts that might cause some issues due to FOSTA. I believe they also deleted any threads/posts that might reference a fee for parties etc., etc.
That happened in the groups as well.
Occasionally entire threads disappear for reasons known only to SLS, so maybe that? But Fosta la vista deleted any threads that had no activity in the previous 30 days and emails older than something like 90 days.
But maybe they were referring to something else...?
I called it The Great Forum Purge of 2018, but others just say: Fosta la vista, baby.
FOSTA= Fight On line Sex Trafficking Act. The 2018 law that made a lot of Craigslist sections and sites such as Backpage disappear.
Others can explain it in more detail.
When and why?
Obviously, I am not around here as much, but I saw some mention of a clean up in other threads, so I was wondering what happened.
