Luckily, SLS nuked the friend request icon on profile photos recently, at least on the web version. Not sure if it affected the app.. I didn't even realize it until Wayne pointed it out here in the forums.
If you're getting friend requests now, they're almost certainly deliberate.
It used to drive me nuts too. Couple months ago I went to do something and I ended up doing it myself to a couples profile. It happened way too easy.
About half of the time I hit friend request by accident when trying to open a profile.
Very easy to do on a phone.
But it also asks me if I want to send the request and I check no.
It is possible they are just in a hurry and hitting profiles rapid fire and not noticing they are friending.

That's probably a good question to reply to those that Dumb Thumb you. You might get a more accurate reply. Like the previous reply, I too sometimes hit the "Friend Request" by accident while on the phone, It's easy to do if you just want to review someone's profile, it sometimes pops up and if you don't notice it, you can send a friend request by mistake.
I can say I have hit the friend button 3 times by mistake. It is right next to the favorite button. I go back and unfriend right away and hoping I do it quick enough.
Quick question… lately we have been getting multiple friend request from single guys. Most with no birdy and others with a half ass hello birdy..
Since the friend invite is on the picture…. Are you dumb thumbing and hoping we read you profile and start the chat… or just just flat out dumb thumbing..
