Prostate massage

I know that the saddles of road bikes have changed in the last couple of decades to accommodate new information about the damage they were doing to the nerves in the perineum. That's why most road bikes these days have a hole in the saddle where the seat would normally press on the perineum.

So in trying to do this with the tennis ball method, that is getting manipulated too. I wonder if that is considered good or bad. The tennis ball method was seen by a female urologist on Youtube, but I've seen it referenced other places as well.

"there is something (muscle or ???) that will flip to one side or the other from the pressure"

That's the root of the corpus cavernosum, the spongy tissue that becomes erect. The urethra is there too, where it leaves the prostate.

"@Travelers, that finger thing may be in your head. I bet every shit you take is 5 times bigger than her finger...lol"

Unless you wear a glove, fingers aren't the most comfortable insertable. Also, the two anal sphincters work the opposite way. They open easily from inside, but involuntarily clench when pressure is applied from the outside.

Reading more about this, it is something that can take weeks or months to see a benefit, if any is seen at all. It appears to not be something that should be done often for a very long term.

Any benefit seen may be temporary at first, then last longer with each session. There isn't a lot of clear evidence that this will even help. All the more reason for a method that is fairly quick and easy at home, as doing it in a doctors office will take at least a month of multiple (3-4) sessions weekly. That's a shitload of co-pays right there with no guarantee it will even provide any benefit. There are risks that it can worsen symptoms if too much pressure is applied.

I also just noticed that this process is sometimes referred to as "Prostate milking". I saw another forum topic by that title but thought it was something different, but apparently it's not other than "milking" is generally done for pleasure. Otherwise the technique is pretty much the same.

If people derive pleasure from this, all the better, but my primary reason for looking into it was for medical benefits rather than pleasure. The primary benefit I was hoping for was less nighttime trips to the bathroom to pee, and more uninterupted sleep as a result.

FWIW - I noticed you can also do a side-to-side motion and there is something (muscle or ???) that will flip to one side or the other from the pressure. I'm thinking whatever that is that's moving is probably pushing up on the underside of the prostate.

Speaking of the prostate, I read a study the other day that said that you should have 21 ejaculations in a month for optimal prostate health, and to reduce the chance of prostate cancer.

Even between sex and masturbating, I'm nowhere near that number. Gotta get those numbers up.

I cannot take a finger up my ass, not even her small finger, but often when she gives me a BJ she will take her hand and firmly press & message at my taint. It does add a pleasurable feeling.

I tried the tennis ball method and it does seem as though you can get a decent amount of pressure with no pain afterwards. I've only been doing it a couple of days so can't speak to it's effect. So far I'm not really seeing any changes, but it's probably too soon to tell.

The tennis ball method is something that I can easily do myself, even while working or watching TV. The internal method, not so much ;-)

Love a good prostate massage just wish I had a regular friend that would do it for me

It’s hard to put enough pressure on the perineum to massage the prostate without bruising all the tissue in between. Internal massage is much easier, if you can find someone with long, slim fingers. Unfortunately my wife has short fingers.

Also, ask your wife to finger you. Start with just rubbing the taint and go as far as it feels good. I finger myself with every shower I take.

There are supposed benefits of this but, up until recentlly, they all seemed intrusive. I saw one today in a Youtube video that looked interesting and can be done almost anywhere.

It involves sitting on a tennis ball and slowly rocking forward and back with the ball traveling from in between the testicles and rectum (i.e. the taint). It was recommended to do this 3-4 times a week for about 5 minutes each time. You want the chair to be somewhat hard and you use your arms to regulate how much weight/pressure is applied.

I tried it and it seems pretty easy and it's something I can easily do while working from home. Not sure if I'll see much benefit, but figure it's worth a try. Like most guys my age I have an enlarged prostate and the typical symtoms as a result. Easy enough to keep a tennis ball at my desk to remind me to do it and worth at least trying to see if I notice any benefit from it.

Figured I'd pass this on and ask if anyone else has tried this and, if Yes, did they get any benefit from it?
