Long Walk

I walk about 4 miles a day. I take two 2 miles trips. 20 minutes a mile. I have a bad knee but the waking actually loosens it up. I wish it was enough for weight loss but I know it's not. Since I live in a rural area on a gravel road, I just walk it. There is little traffic and I get to see some wildlife. I just have to learn to keep my mouth close to help with my weight loss. LOL

I walk about 3 miles everyday at lunchtime at work...as long as it is not raining and the temperature is between 35 and 75.

Unfortunately my town has no sidewalks. They do have trails, but the extra hurdle of gettting in the car to drive someplace to walk is enough of a barrier that it happens less often than I'd like.

I do take occasional walks during lunch when the weather is nice, but I'm doing that on the shoulder of the road. I'm not far though from getting off the main road I live on to less traveled back roads. As the weather get's nicer I'll pull out the bike. I like the bike better than walking just because I get to see more in the same time. In a 30 min walk I can cover about 2 miles, but on the bike it's nearly 4x that. Both are something that I can do in my lunch hour.

Not sure if it will happen but I hope to be doing a lot more of both when I finally retire. That's looking like end of 2025 before that happens unless I happened to get laid off before that.

@8, sorry to hear about the health in Nov. I get my cardio from jiujitsu mostly but I do workout daily and I'm pretty active these days. Certainly can do more.

Flip,

If you want gut loss, health, penis health, etc, you gotta walk, job, bike or swim. The legs are key to circulation and men's sex health.

Do your neighborhood or walking trail... 20-25 in one direction and back. In the morning and evening and you will live longer.

I had an accident and very invasive emergency procedure, which led to a hernia in late November. Even after I healed, I wasn't my normal self until I started walking 2-3 miles a day. We spend 1-3 hours cooking/eating. You owe 1 hr to your body.

6 miles is a goodly distance. I'll walk one dog between 3 and 4 miles a day at a pretty fast pace on the trails around home, depending on which route I take.

I walk 3 to 4, I figure the dogs run 5-10. I alternate dogs because they would tangle leashes during the part they're on leash. I'm not supposed to let them off leash, but I do when the coast is clear of people and dogs.

Back in the day (and in a different house), I used to run 4 miles daily or 8 miles every other day. The terrain had a lot more hills. 3 to 4 mile walks doesn't even compare to that but it's better than not doing anything

Good for you I don't wanna drive that far so I'll be damned if I'm walking it lol.

Took a six mile walk yesterday, and another six today. We were on vacation last week in the Appalachian mountains, and I got to hike and mountain climb quite a bit while we were on that trip. Even though I'm back in flatland, I'm trying to keep it up. It's just hard to find places around me to hike. So right now I'm just walking in my neighborhood, and I have a 6 Mile track set up. Takes me about 2 hours to walk the 6 mi. I haven't looked at what the elevation change is. I think it's probably somewhere in the area of 100 ft.
