Bunions

Yeah, I never really saw much difference from anything I tried. It took a long time for the bunions to form and seems reasonable it would take just as long or longer to correct without surgery. For something to work, it would have to be something comfortable enough to be worn regularly and maybe even sleep with, but be rigid enough to make a difference.

Short of a custom appliance of some sort, I don't know that such a thing exists for this.

Update on this old topic. I tried the correctors, they were ineffective and broke. I also tried several massage and manipulation techniques from videos suggested by GGMM. They helped a little, but not enough, which was probably more my fault for waiting too long to do something about it.
The pain got to the point where I couldn't take it anymore and had surgery a few months ago. The recovery is going well, but slower than we hoped. I'm able to do light activities and am looking forward to getting back on the hiking trails soon.

I have given up on the bunion correctors that work by use of a toe spreader. After 3+ months I saw zero difference AND the correctors I bought fell apart. The toe spacer pulls off from the spandex holder. I tried sewing it on, but the rubber for the spacer is so soft that it eventually pulled through the thread.

I might consider the type that work like a splint, but I think that you could only wear those at night. I don't think they'd fit in a shoe, and if they did, they'd likely be uncomfortable.

I do appear however to be seeing a small improvement using the massage technique that GGMM mentioned. Basically I pull the large toe straight away from the foot, then gently pull it down and away from the other toes. I hold it there for 30 secs or so and then do the same, except I flex it up and out from the other toes and hold for another 30 secs.

I think that if you could spend the minute when you get up and before going to bed doing the massage technique, you may see an improvement over time. I don't always remember, but still seeing what looks encouraging in terms of some improvement.

I think the ideal would be to take a mold of the side of the foot with the toe held in the correct position, then make a custom molded splint and use spandex or velcro straps to hold it in place. Something like that may also work and be comfortable inside a shoe. Since this is custom, it wouldn't be something you could order online.

I'm a newbie on the Forums. I just saw the post about "why are you talking about bunions"'? LOL Seriously, if he had a bunion or knew someone with a significant bunion, he would understand. It isn't fun to have someone look at your feet and say "OMG, what is wrong with your feet?". I know that because my brother in law did it to me. It wasn't malicious, he just wasn't used to seeing feet with severe bunions. So. I'm here to inform all of you sexy guys that a woman with bunions is not less of a woman. We can still screw and suck our brains out. Give us a chance, even if our feet look weird. Your friend, E.

Natural - I have read some of OH's other posts and, as you suggest, I don't think that he realizes that there is more to this than sex for likely the majority of people here.

He might be better served by a site like Tinder, where his ideal communication can possibly happen. This would of course be, "Hey, wanna fuck?" with a response of, "Sure. When and where?"

Unfortunately, he's not the only SM that thinks like this. It's not that there aren't people that are looking for NSA hookups here, I just think that the vast majority are looking for a little more than that. When they are, his comments reflect what he thinks of this, as does his success, or lack of it ;-)

Does he not realize that there is more than life than sex(which, obviously, he is not getting)? Makes me understand why he doesn't get that people have to postpone meeting for various reasons. I have had to do so at times because of work or my period or other reasons, and I don't have kids at home either. But I do have kids, three of them, plus two sons-in-laws and a grandson! You'll understand where I am coming from if you have read his other comments. SMH.

OH - There are plenty of "sex specific" threads. If you have no interest in a topic, don't look at it. It's not like you didn't know what this topic was about.

This is a sex site and you all are
Talking about bunions. Gross!!!!!

I have found the toe separator ones do not work, or at least there has been no notticable change over the past 3 months. They also do not last. The toe separator is a very soft rubber an it pulls off of the sleeve that holds it in place.

I think the ideal would be a custom made one, that creates a form fitting splint. This might be a good application for a 3D printer/scanner. Make a clay mold, scan it and print it, then hold in place with a couple of velcro straps. The edges could be beveled so that it could conceivably be worn with socks and inside a shoe and be reasonably comfortable.

I have severe bunions on both feet. The foot surgeon told me she wouldn't operate on them unless they were causing me pain, since there was a high likelihood that the surgery itself would cause nerve damge in my feet. The bunions don't cause me pain, unless I try to wear normal shoes. I can only order shoes online, because I need very wide, stretchy shoes. Forget wearing any remotely sexy shoes. I really doubt that that the bunion straighteners that I see advertised would do anything for my feet. Surgical techniques improve all the time. Since I'm working from home now, maybe it's time to re-visit the issue of bunion surgery again with a specialist. I'm tired of being embarassed by the look of my deformed feet.

GGMM, Thank you. I watched two instructional videos on there that I'm going to try.

Mayhem: Yes, I bought the ones with the splints. I'm not even going to attempt to wear them with shoes, just in the evenings and at night.

There are some that come with a built-in splint and these look like they make be even more effective, but I was worried about comfort, epecially when wearing shoes.

GGMM, good to know. I suspected that this was something massage may help with but never looked at that angle.

If you want to increase your success with bunion correctors (or any sort of foot appliance) there's a massage technique that really helps. It would take too long to explain, but check YouTube for bunion massage. The one I looked at, by a podiatrist, was very close to the technique I learned.

Mayhem, thanks for the tip. We didn't know anything like this was out there either. I just ordered a pair for myself. And you're right, for the price, why not give it a shot. I'm looking forward to seeing how they do.

I have seen that type of treatment in stores and didn't know if it was when the time. I'm subscribed to this post and figured if anyone else had input, I'd see it pop up, but know it could be a while before you see any results. I'm patient :-)

@Young - Just a heads up, but I am expecting it could take 3-5 months to see any change from wearing these. It's not a lot of effort or cost, but I'm not expecting anything will happen anytime soon from wearing the bunion corrector.

I rarely got any pain from my bunion, but if I can correct it without surgery, all the better.

Marcola, OR, Us

Hubby has them, but they aren't super painful most of the time. I'm going to watch this post and wait for answers with you. Thanks for bringing it up; having painful foot parts can make staying fit a trial!

Kind of an odd topic, but I've had a bunion on my left foot for quite some time. I always thought the only real way to correct it was with surgery. My wife knows people that have gone through that surgery and said it was very painful. Since my bunion wasn't otherwise causing any issues I figured I'd just live with it.

I was actually checking the weather and the weather site had an ad for bunion correctors. I had never heard of them before so looked into it. There are a number of them on the market and they appear to work in roughly the same way braces straighten teeth.

I bought a pair of them for under $10 and there is nothing that makes these ones left or right footed, so I actually have a spare. I'm reading that they take 3-5 months to start seeing a difference. Makes sense when you consider how long it takes braces to work for teeth. After wearing one for a day, I barely even notice it.

Anyway, in the event anyone else has bunions and thought surgery was the only option, it might be something to look into.
