I do basically the same thing that onehorneywife said and I've had pretty good luck that way. Post your Hotdate a month or so before you go. Then about two weeks before you go change your location to that area so the locals will see you and then you'll start chatting with the people that you're interested in meeting so by the time you get there you may already have some plans.

Barring that, you could search for clubs in that area, or search SLS membership for compatible (and active) members in that area.

Welcome. You could try putting a posting in Hot Dates. You will need to change your profile location for the area you plan on being at on your trip. Then list the hot dates for the days you will be there. Just an FYI. Probably should post a few pics if you want to get some interest from people. Gumby people usually don't have much fun.
