What do you do at a club after someone declines you?
Smile, say "no problem, have a great night," and walk away — without arguing, sulking, or trying a different angle. Don't ask the same couple again later in the evening. Don't talk about them with the next couple. Re-set, get a drink, and approach a different couple. Couples notice the response to a no and reputations propagate fast in any local scene. Gracious-after-a-no is a stronger reputation than enthusiastic-when-things-work.
