And today, the messaging server has been out for hours... "Undergoing maintenance". Wonderful.

We miss the old emails system.

It showed us when an email was open. So you know someone is ignoring you on purpose now you have to assume.

The other thing we miss is how it archive all your messages. Now it seems like older messages are deleted.

Oh and the bird we miss the bird for our messages. We know it pops up for announcements from groups and clubs but we'd much rather have it the other way around

We do however like the idea of personal messages separated from clubs and groups messages. And love that the ring is gone from the IMs.

So it's not all bad maybe some tweaks to make it better if possible. The I'm nature is not a big for us.

Eppe570 I feel ya. I have had only 1 couple reach out to me but I have messaged a few people. I have been thinking it’s me but now I’m not sure. I am single but I thought I would have a few more contacts than one. If someone can help pick up my game I’m all ears. Thanks for the forum eppe570

Either my husband and I are the most unappealing people on SLS or the message system is utterly unreliable. I have sent out at least a dozen messages to couples we had an interest in within the past couple of days, a few to friends, and haven’t received responses. Our response rate has never been this low. I wonder if they aren’t being notified or even sent for that matter. Frustrating.

I for one absolutely hate the new messaging system! I guess they never heard of the saying if it ain’t broke don’t fix it……

I would venture to guess the vast majority on here don't like it or are very upset with having to use IM as a massaging system. This is elementary stuff here. I've created sites not dissimilar to this over 15 years ago. It isn't hard folks. I don't want to bother anyone with IM when a message is a better option. Seriously. Is it a money issue? I like easy basic functionally, but sls needs to upgrade their platform if it wants to be relevant into the future. It isn't that difficult.

It is fucking stupid that the email services are available for notifications of SLS events and members are Forced to use IM for communications to other members. Email is the chosen form of communication throughout the World Wide Web. Except for SLS.

Agreed. Simplified email with ability to save or archive is all i need. Not wild about chat/IM function. Besides, the last message is unreadable because it’s cut off.

Too many email choices in the past; old, new, borrowed, blue...unread, read, archive, saved, sent...Just give me an inbox, sent folder, an trash and have the bird tell me there is a message waitin.

Do not like the way the new messages are. bring back the mailbox. This whole site needs a upgrade.
