BRYANT (KATV) - A former Bryant High School teacher is wanted on sexual assault charges.

Investigators said in a press release 31-year-old Courtney Speer was having sex with a 17-year-old male student at her home in Benton while employed as a teacher at Bryant High School. The student attends Bryant High School and told investigators he had been a student of Speer's when he was a freshman.

He said his first sexual encounter with her was in the high school parking lot in her car in June of 2012. He told investigators they had four total encounters in the parking lot.

Speer resigned her position as a 9th grade English teacher Monday.

There are six felony first-degree sexual assault warrants out for Speer's arrest - four out of Bryant and two out of Benton. The case is still being investigated and more charges could be announced.

That's messed up.

The Arkansas teacher who was once surprised on “Good Morning America” by her adoring students has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for having sex with a 17-year-old student up to 30 times — including during a class trip to Washington, DC.

Married mother Heather Hare, 33, was ordered last week to serve 13 years in the federal sexual assault case, along with 20 years to be served concurrently, in a Saline County Circuit Court sexual assault case, KATV reported.

Hare taught home economics at Bryant High School, where she met the victim during his senior year and gave him her phone number, Instagram and Snapchat.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — New Mexico’s top prosecutor said Friday that the state’s five Republican electors cannot be prosecuted under the current law for filing election certificates that falsely declared Donald Trump the winner of the 2020 presidential race.

However, Democratic Attorney General Raúl Torrez is making recommendations to state lawmakers that he says would enhance the security of the state’s electoral process and provide legal authority for prosecuting similar conduct in the future.

Well what do you know , looks like New Mexico is looking to change some laws.

I didn’t even read this article , but most likely alternate electors was legal in Colorado during the 2020 election.

A bipartisan group of U.S. senators released legislation Wednesday that aims to clarify the 1887 law that governs how Congress counts Electoral College votes following a presidential election.
The legislation caps off months of negotiations between Republican and Democratic senators, who hope to remove the vagueness from the Electoral Count Act that led former President Donald Trump and some of his advisers to call on then-Vice President Mike Pence to ignore certified votes for Joe Biden from some swing states.
In the lead up to the certification, Republican officials in several states gathered together to come up with alternate slates of electors, not based on actual votes.

Sounds like the so called “fake electors” was legal in Maryland in 2020 .

The Nevada Republicans who signed and submitted fraudulent election certification documents after the 2020 presidential election will not face criminal charges for those actions, but any future fake electors could be looking at up to a decade behind bars.

State lawmakers on Tuesday passed Senate Bill 133, which would make creating, conspiring to create, or serving on a false slate of electors a category B felony. Fake electors would face a minimum sentence of four years in prison, with a maximum possible sentence of 10 years, and pay a fine of up to $5,000.

Non disclosure agreements have always been legal . That was how stormy was paid . Trump is not a public company so he does not fall under SOX . He didn’t know what Coen was doing . Even though he signed off. Trump defense witnesses were prevented in talking and explaining campaign law. At one time the judge cleared the courtroom because he didn’t like a witness . It was a show trial .

@bonnie....Stormy was paid in 2016. Trump's presidency began in 2017. News of this broke in 2018 when Cohen was convicted for tax evasion and campaign finance rule violation issues. There are receipts (aka evidence) that support this. It is possible that you live in an information bubble and the information does not pierce the bubble.

@bonnie....He was unanimously convicted by a jury, that his lawyers selected, on all counts, and his charges were elevated to felony level because he committed additional crimes (falsifying business records) to conceal the original misdemeanors concealing a scheme to affect election results). Making illegitimate tax deductions is a common white collar crime, and now he is a common man, bound by the established common law, and his misconduct will continue to play out in the courtroom before is for the unforeseeable future.
