Should Rideshare Drivers Be Armed

My dad after retiring started hot shotting for an oilfield company, He put over 1,000,000 miles on his T-100 Toyota. The company he was contracted to absolutely did not allow drivers even though they were actually self employed to ever have guns. My dad made 100s of runs, and always had his gun.

Many years ago I was a driver/bodyguard for an escort service.

Truth be told, it was more of a nude singing telegram service. The owner was adamant about not performing sexual services, just dancing for the client. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but was definitely frowned upon.

Anyway, this was long before rideshare, in the early 1990s. Before widespread use of cell phones.

I armed myself with a stun gun for those times when a client got out of hand. Never had to use it, but had to pull it our a couple of times until I got the dancer to safety.

The issue with a stun gun/taser is that you usually have to be in close contact with the aggressor.

For that reason, if I had to do it over again, pepper spray would be my defensive weapon of choice.

Yes and that wolf app is exactly that. Love the idea

I say YES! However, instead of a firearm they should be armed with either a taser gun or pepper spray. These are non lethal weapons that get the job done, no matter if the asshole is a man or woman!
